The Jeanerette Mardi Gras Association extends our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of our beloved "DJ Fab".

There are no words that can truly feel big enough in moments like this, but please know that your family is in our hearts and prayers.
DJ Fab was definitely an unmatched energy that made every room feel alive the moment he stepped in. He was so excited and ready for our upcoming ball, and his presence will truly be missed.

Praying for strength, comfort, and peace to your family during this incredibly difficult time. May yall find comfort in knowing how deeply DJ Fab was loved and how much he meant to so many.
Gone too soon, but his spirit and his legacy will always be remembered 🙏🕊️🤍🫶

On behalf of the Jeanerette Mardi Gras Association:

Our hearts are heavy as we extend our deepest apologies and heartfelt prayers to the family of the child who was injured Saturday. We are keeping them close in our thoughts and are sincerely hoping for a full and speedy recovery.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who came out to participate, support, and celebrate with us. The presence of families, supporters, volunteers, and community members is a reflection of the unity and pride we work hard to build and share throughout our communities.

As with any event, unexpected situations may occur. Unfortunately, the poor decisions of a few individuals led to incidents on Saturday, and law enforcement is actively investigating and working toward resolutions.

We are truly grateful for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we work through this moment as a community.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept additional applications at this time, however, we look forward to welcoming new participants in future events and celebrating together in the seasons to come.

The deadline for the Jeanerette Mardi Gras Parade (1/26/26) is quickly approaching, and registration is filling up fast!!!
To secure your spot, please submit your application via email to [email protected]. Parade entry payments may also be sent to the same email address.
For in-person registration, we will be available at The Coffee House on Main St, in Jeanerette, LA, on Saturday, 1/24/26, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

Celebrating 30 Years of Mardi Gras Majesty in Jeanerette, Louisiana. The Krewe of Uganda has been a proud pillar of Mardi Gras tradition in Jeanerette, Louisiana - bringing energy, culture, and pure magic to the heart of the celebration. Founded on unity, culture, and community spirit, this krewe is known for their unforgettable presence, their unwavering pride, and their commitment to lighting up the season like only they can. We proudly present the Krewe of Uganda-30 years strong, still celebrating with purpose, still inspiring the next generation, and still leading with unmatched spirit and pride.

🎉 Introducing Our 2026 Grand Marshal: Tyrunn Walker 🎉
From the heart of New Iberia to the national spotlight of the NFL, Tyrunn Walker represents Pride, Perseverance, and hometown Excellence. A Westgate High School legend and multi-sport state champion, Tyrunn carried his talents and determination from local fields to the professional level, playing for teams including the New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Rams, and Buffalo Bills.

Known for his toughness, leadership, and willingness to do the “dirty work,” in the trenches, Tyrunn now brings that same dedication back home as Defensive Coordinator at Westgate High School, helping led the program to its first-ever football state championship. A community leader and mentor, he continues to uplift the next generation through education, discipline, and service.

So line the streets, grab your beads, and get ready to cheer!!!
