Thank you for all you do!!

This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate the dedicated professionals behind the headset at Delaware County 911.
Our dispatchers are the calm in the chaos—the first voice heard in moments of crisis and the vital link between our community and emergency services. Their ability to remain composed, think critically, and act swiftly makes a difference in countless lives every single day.
Working around the clock, including nights, weekends, and holidays, they serve with professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment. Their work often goes unseen, but its impact is immeasurable.
As Director, I want to personally express how proud I am of this team. Their dedication, strength, and compassion do not go unnoticed, and it is an honor to lead such an outstanding group of professionals.
We extend our sincere appreciation to each of our telecommunicators for their service, dedication, and resilience. Thank you for being the steady voice when it matters most.

March 26th extreme fire danger

03/24/2026

Governor Kevin Stitt issued an executive order on Monday, March 23, directing all American and Oklahoma flags on state property to be flown at half-staff from 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, until 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, to honor the lives, service, and sacrifice of Goldsby Fire Chief Bryan Jenkins and firefighter Todd Pendleton.

Chief Bryan Jenkins, 63, and firefighter Todd Pendleton, 62, were dedicated members of the Goldsby Fire Department who lost their lives in the line of duty while serving their community. Jenkins served as Fire Chief, and both men were longtime volunteer firefighters who gave countless hours in service to the residents of Goldsby and the surrounding area. Please no burning or put your piles out!

A dry cold front will pass through Oklahoma today over very dry wildland fuels spiking fire danger indices this afternoon. Any going fire will be challenged by the clockwise wind shift coupled with increasing wind speeds placing emphasis on the eastern and southern flanks of wildfires.

Recent fire activity will also be challenged by a different wind direction and strong wind speeds meriting thorough patrol and mop up efforts this morning.

🔥Report any suspected wildfire activity to 911.
Avoid areas where wildfire activity is ongoing and do not drive into smoke.
🔥Heed evacuation notifications from local authorities.
🔥Please avoid any activity that may spark a wildfire!
