Our 2027 Alumni and Friends group is traveling to Croatia and Slovenia in May 27-June 7, 2027! The 12-day trip begins in Dubrovnik, Croatia and includes stops in the Split Region, Mostar, Plitvice, Zagreb, and ends in Ljubljana, Slovenia. An optional extension June 7-10, 2027 adds three more days in Slovenia in the Lake Bled region. ☀

Deadline to enroll and pay for the trip is February 2027. Travelers are encouraged to sign up several months before the deadline to be booked on the same flight itinerary.

continues to support students by giving scholarship funds through their "Make Tomorrow Better" initiative! 🌟

This year's scholarship is helping Stone Talley pursue a
degree in Kinesiology. Stone is a graduate of Addison High School and enjoys community service! He plans to earn an
associate degree from Bevill State and transfer to UAB to
pursue a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.

Stone is the 2nd of his family to be a WCF scholar. His brother, Destin, also graduated from Bevill after being involved in our program, and now is enjoying his career as a Registered Nurse at UAB hospital!

Congrats, Stone, and thank you, Globe Life! 💙

Scholar Spotlight 💡

Lily Clark has been awarded the WCF Judge Alton and Veni Blanton Scholarship to attend Bevill State Community College. 🌟

Lily is a graduate of Jasper High School where she participated in the Marching Band, Interact Club, FBLA, Peer Helpers, Beta Club, Spanish Club, Peer Helpers, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. She was an Alabama 4-H State Ambassador and in Walker County 4-H. 🖤💛

In her spare time, she helps with church events, with her 4-H Club, and in concession stands at sports events. 👏

Lily plans to earn an associate degree and transfer to a four-year college for a focus on Agriculture. 🤩

Our scholars walked Gamble Ave and picked up litter along the road and in the park. Good company and a beautiful day makes everything fun!

Scholar Spotlight 💡

Adyson Brown has been awarded the WCF Synovus Scholarship to attend Bevill State Community College. 🤩

Adyson is a graduate of Curry High School. She was a member of Beta Club, SGA, Spanish Club, FCCLA and the volleyball team. She earned numerous volleyball awards. She was inducted into the National Honor Society and was recognized on the A-Honor Roll. She also participated in the Youth Leadership Walker County program. 💛💙

Adyson enjoys community service and helped with projects through her church, on mission trips, with Special Olympics, and the Angel Tree. ✨

She plans to earn an associate degree and transfer to a four-year college for a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science. 🎓

Scholar Spotlight 💡

Jaxcen Bijolle has been awarded the WCF Murphy/Walker Family Scholarship to attend Bevill State Community College in Jasper. 🤩

Jaxcen is a graduate of Jasper High School where he was a member of Beta Club and the football and baseball Teams. He earned a place on the A/B Honor Roll and was inducted into the National Honor Society. 🏈⚾️

Jaxcen plans to pursue an associate in applied science degree in Electrical Systems Technology. 🎓

Scholar Spotlight 💡

Haley Baker has been awarded the WCF EBSCO Industries Scholarship to attend Bevill State Community College. 🐻 💚💙

Haley is a graduate of Oakman High School where she was a member of Beta Club, FBLA, FFA, FCCLA, and the volleyball team. She was featured on the A-Honor
Roll and was elected Girl Class Favorite and Vice President of her class. She was also a member of the Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP). 🤩

Haley’s community service includes helping in the St. Mary’s Food Bank, packing backpacks for Backyard Blessings, and helping with other food and toy drives. 🫶

Haley plans to earn an associate in applied science degree in Nursing. 🩺

WCF is a proud partner of the Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP)! 🌟 We had our first meeting of 2026-2027 with the newest students this week. It was so exciting to see students discussing, learning, and developing their leadership skills!
