We hope to see many Pack 20 families at next Sunday’s Pack meeting.

Visit the Pickens County Airport
- Sunday June 14, 2026, 3:00 p.m.
- Address for meeting: 193 Pickens Airport Rd, Jasper, GA 30143
- There is a parking area - just make sure you go around the horseshoe road layout
- Meet in the new airport admin building
- There are restrooms in the admin building
- We will have the event, rain or shine. The meeting will be mainly in the hangar.
- Bring a bottle of water
- The airport has made arrangements with local pilots for the scouts to see some planes

VBS is almost here! This year will be filled with fantastic fun to explore the nature of God through interactive games, hands on mission projects for Operation Christmas Child and the North Georgia Family Partners, snacks, and more! We have a special session for your kids between ages 9-12! As a team, they will be inspired to create a hands-on project based on this year's theme: "Exploring the Nature of God". They will present their creation on the final day of VBS at the Family Fun Event on Thursday.

The Bird family had a very special family trip to Washington, D.C., earlier this month. Allison Bird sent photos and the following description of their opportunity to participate in a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

On May 2nd, Finn, my husband Seth, and I were honored to be chosen to participate in the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. Before the ceremony, we met with a Tomb Guard at their quarters and they went over the protocols and different steps required of us to show honor and respect while laying the wreath. It was very easy to do and the Guards were a wonderful example for Finn to look up to. The only requirements of us before arriving at Arlington was, we had to purchase or make a wreath to donate and we also had to dress appropriately for the occasion. We dedicated the wreath not just to the unknown soldiers that lost their lives serving our country but to all who have served. At the end of the ceremony Finn represented our Pack by giving the Tomb Guard an Atlanta Area Council patch.

It was an emotional experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives. There were many Vietnam and WW2 veterans there, Finn told each one, "Thank you for your service," and shook each one’s hand. They seemed honored to have a young Scout honor them so openly.

Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of America

Pack 20 had a great Blue & Gold banquet Sunday, including a pizza dinner, rank badge awards & special guest, Compatriot Emil Decker, President of the Robert Forsyth Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution. Mr. Decker came dressed in his colonial attire, and spoke to the scouts about the importance of the 250 anniversary of the signing of the The Declaration of Independence. After which the scouts signed a copy of the Declaration of Independence using quill pens.

Three Arrow-of-light scouts earned their rank and "crossed over" to Scout BSA Troop 20.

May Pack Meeting - Sunday May 17th - Celebrating 250 Years of America!

Blue & Gold Banquet, Sunday, May 17, 4:00-5:30 pm, @ Big Canoe Chapel.

Our theme this year is Celebrating 250 Years of America!

We will award badges to Cub Scouts who earn their rank (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear & Webelos). Plus, Arrow-of-light scouts will cross-over to Scouts BSA Troop 20.

We are having dinner with pizza, cupcakes, and a variety of drinks.

Please arrive early to get through Big Canoe gate security. Tell gate security you are with Cub Scout Pack 20 going to Big Canoe Chapel.
