Wanted to post some pictures of our Lake Cleanup last Wednesday and Thursday. Thanks to Alabama Power and all of our volunteers who were able to help. It was a great day getting our lake ready for summer.

Our Spring Lake Cleanup Lake cleanup is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 21. We will meet at the dam at 8:00 am each day.

16-18 volunteers are needed for each day.

Lunch will be provided at the dam each day by APCO Shoreline Management. We will finish up around 3:00 o'clock on Wednesday and at noon on Thursday.

Bring a chair if you want one to sit on for lunch.
Bring bug spray and sunscreen.
Wear a hat, long sleeve shirt and long pants. Heavy shoes/boots are a plus.
Renew Our Rivers will provide tee shirts and two boats.

Members of Smith Lake Civic Association partnered with Alabama Power on March 25th to place over 100 Christmas trees at depths between 15 to 20 ft to act as fish attractors. Please check out the photos and below April 1st article from the Daily Mountain Eagle on this great environmental project. And no it was not April Fools.🤣🤣. These will be great additions to help our fish populations thrive in depths and areas that all of us can fish and enjoy.

Don't forget the annual Smith Lake Veterans Appreciation Boat Parade is this Saturday August 23rd starting at 10:00 at Duncan Bridge and heading towards the dam. Please decorate your boat and come join the fun in honor of our veterans.

SLCA will be hosting a dock for the 2025 Poor Man Poker Run Next Saturday August 2nd. Please stop by and see us and learn about our association. We are dock #16 and look forward to seeing all players.
