This table is reserved to honor our missing comrades in arms and those who offered the ultimate sacrifice their country

The tablecloth is white — symbolizing the purity of their motives when answering the call of duty.

The single red rose, displayed in a vase, reminds us of the life of each of the missing and their loved ones and friends of these Americans who keep the faith, awaiting answers.

The vase is tied with a yellow ribbon, a symbol of our continued determination to account for our missing.

A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears endured by those missing and their families who seek answers.

The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain those lost from our country, founded as one nation under God.

The glass is inverted — to symbolize their inability to share this evening’s toast. The chair is empty — they are missing.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends - John 15:13

We remember and thank you. May Jesus cover each of your families today with a peace beyond understanding. ✝️🇺🇸🫡🪖

Tomorrow morning, Veterans With Christ – Walker County, Alabama, will meet Montevallo National Cemetaryowntown Jasper, Alabama at 0600 as we prepare to travel together to the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo for the Memorial Day Ceremony. We will depart promptly at 0615 to allow time for travel and parking.

We currently have a few open seats available for anyone who would like to attend and needs transportation. The ceremony is always a powerful and meaningful experience, featuring representatives from each military branch, patriotic music, and the families of Alabama’s fallen heroes. The service begins around 0900 and typically lasts about an hour.

This is a rain-or-shine event, so we encourage everyone attending to bring a poncho or umbrella if needed. Parking and seating are available, but they do fill quickly.

To the families of Walker County’s fallen service members — please know you are continually in our prayers. Tomorrow, especially, we pray for God’s peace, comfort, and blessing over each of you as we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Because of their courage and sacrifice, we are blessed with the freedoms we hold dear — including the freedom to openly and boldly praise the name of Jesus Christ.

Tonight there will be NO Veterans With Christ meeting due to local high school graduation activities.

Please keep all graduates, families, educators, school staff, and first responders in your prayers tonight as our community celebrates this important milestone. 🇺🇸🎓

Even though we are not meeting in person, we encourage everyone to stay active in God’s Word daily. Spend time reading Scripture, praying, and reflecting on God’s faithfulness.

📖 Tonight’s reading: Deuteronomy Chapters 24–27 (Day 78)

These chapters remind us that our choices matter, obedience matters, and God calls His people to live with justice, mercy, integrity, and faithfulness.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life…”
— Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)

Stay strong, brothers and sisters. Stay mission ready spiritually.

Even though we won’t be gathering together this week (Local High School Graduation Day), we encourage each of you to keep opening God’s Word, spending time in prayer, and staying rooted in faith. Sometimes the quiet moments between meetings are where God speaks the loudest.

As veterans, brothers, sisters, families, and friends, we know life can bring battles, burdens, and difficult days — but God’s promises never take a break. Keep reading. Keep trusting. Keep growing.

This Memorial Day season, let us also remember the incredible sacrifice made by so many who gave everything for our freedom. We are thankful for the opportunity to honor them together. 🇺🇸

Please stay tuned for details about the caravan/carpool to Montevallo National Cemetery this coming Memorial Day, leaving at 0630 that morning. If you are interested in attending but do not have transportation, please reach out to us or Ms. Debra Gillespie with 13 Life Ministries by Sunday, May 24th so we can try to assist with transportation needs for this meaningful Alabama Memorial Day trip.

We love and appreciate every one of you. Continue checking on one another, praying for one another, and walking boldly in faith.

“Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” — Psalm 119:105
