We were honored to have Presley Skelton from Jasper High School speak to our DKG ladies. Presley has worked incredibly hard, winning the American Legion Speech Contest last year and attending Girls State. She delivered an impressive presentation, and we look forward to seeing all the great things she will accomplish in the future.

The Delta Kappa Gammas ladies enjoyed a wonderful visit to the Pat Morrison’s Museum in Walker County, Alabama. Stepping inside truly felt like taking a step back in time!

A special thank-you to Mr. Pat Morrison for sharing his incredible collection and stories, and to his wife, Helen, for preparing the most delicious spread of food — it was absolutely amazing.

We are so grateful for the warm hospitality and the opportunity to experience such a meaningful piece of local history.

A huge thank you to our very own Iota sister, Katie Carden, for sharing her expertise at our last chapter meeting! Katie gave us an inspiring presentation on how she uses AI in the classroom to enhance learning and spark creativity—and shared practical ideas for how we can use AI, too!

Our ladies enjoyed a wonderful evening with guest speaker Nicole Goodenough, who encouraged us to “Make Exercise Be Your Focus and Stay Fit!” 💪

Nicole did an excellent job leading us through Chair Yoga, reminding us that movement, balance, and mindfulness can be part of every day — no matter where you are! 🧘‍♀️✨

At our October 21st meeting, we are excited to welcome Katie Carden and Dr. Sherina Morgan, who will be teaching us about Artificial Intelligence — “Is A.I. a Piece of the Puzzle?” 🧩🤖

Also, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so let’s all dress in pink 🎀 and come together for an evening of learning and sisterhood!

🌹 What a memorable evening at our recent Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Banquet!

We were truly honored to welcome our Alabama State President, Ann Jones, who presented our chapter with the Order of the Rose—a beautiful recognition of our continued dedication and growth.

A very special congratulations to Dr. Jean Lollar, who was awarded the Treasured Rose Award for her over 25 years of faithful service to DKG. Her commitment and passion continue to inspire us all.

We were also thrilled to recognize our grant recipient, Sophie Edgil, and enjoyed the company of her lovely mother during the celebration.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our amazing Chapter President, Sherry Williams, who has shown us all what true leadership looks like—graceful, dedicated, and inspiring. We are so grateful for you! 💐

Gratitude, sisterhood, and celebration filled the night. Here’s to the continued success of our chapter! 🌹

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, local chapter, Iota held its annual banquet last Spring for the purpose of initiating new members, presenting a local high-school senior a Delta Kappa Gamma scholarship, recognizing members’ years of service and honoring past presidents. We are so excited to welcome our new members, Shericka Williams, Anna Vines, Morgan Skelton, Hannah Morrison, and Katie Carden. Thank you to Becky Smith for her event planning and to Warehouse 319 for hosting the event.
