Today is Dolly Day: “Bookin’ 9–5” at Pickens County Junior High School, and our Dragon Care team was excited to join in the fun! 💕📖

The team dressed up as what Dolly Parton means to them—celebrating her incredible spirit of kindness, generosity, and love of literacy. They also brought gently used books to donate or exchange, helping spread the joy of reading to students in our community.

We are so proud of our Dragon Care team for participating and helping make a difference, one book at a time! ❤️🐉📚

🇺🇸 Labor Day Holiday Reminder! 🇺🇸

Good Samaritan Health & Wellness Center, Good Sam Pharmacy, and Dragon Care will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

We will reopen all offices on Tuesday, September 8, with our normal business hours.

Yesterday, Good Samaritan Health & Wellness Center had the privilege of honoring Mrs. Mary Ellen Johnson as she retires from her volunteer service after an incredible 20 years of dedication and love for Good Sam and the patients we serve. ❤️

For two decades, Mary Ellen has faithfully given her time, talents, and compassion to our PDAP department, making a difference in the lives of countless people in our community. Her service has been invaluable, and her presence will truly be missed around Good Sam.

While we are sad to see her retire, we are so happy for Mary Ellen as she begins this next chapter—spending more time with her family and, of course, helping her husband tackle that ever-growing “honey-do” list! 😊

Mary Ellen, thank you for 20 wonderful years of service, friendship, laughter, and commitment to Good Samaritan. You will always be a part of the Good Sam family, and we wish you nothing but happiness, good health, and many wonderful days ahead with those you love most.

🏆 TWO BIG GPCA HONORS FOR GOOD SAM! 🏆

We are incredibly proud to announce that Good Samaritan Health & Wellness Center has been named Georgia’s Community Health Center of the Year by the Georgia Primary Care Association (GPCA)! 🎉

And the celebration doesn’t stop there! Dr. W. Kenneth Austin has also been selected as a recipient of the GPCA Curtis V. Cooper Special Recognition Award for his outstanding dedication to our patients and community. ❤️

These honors are a reflection of the incredible people who make Good Sam what it is—our dedicated staff, volunteers, leadership team, Board of Directors, and, most importantly, the patients we are privileged to serve.

For more than 24 years, Good Sam has been providing compassionate, accessible healthcare to our community, and we couldn’t be more honored to have that work recognized at the state level.

Both awards will be presented at the GPCA Annual Conference next month in Jekyll Island, where members of our leadership team and Board of Directors will accept the Community Health Center of the Year award, and Dr. Austin will receive his special recognition.

Congratulations to Dr. Austin and the entire Good Sam family! This is YOUR accomplishment! 💙👏

🌮🧀 Nacho Normal FQHC... We're the BEST! 🧀🌮

What a fantastic way to wrap up National Health Center Week! Today, our Board of Directors and Leadership Team treated our incredible staff to a nacho bar lunch as a small token of appreciation for the compassion, dedication, and hard work they show our patients every single day.

The food was delicious, the laughter was nonstop, and everyone had such a great time... we completely forgot to take pictures! 📸😂

To our amazing Good Samaritan team—thank you for making a difference in the lives of our patients and our community each and every day. We appreciate you more than words can express. ❤️

Today, Good Samaritan Health & Wellness Center was honored to host our elected officials, community leaders, and valued partners for our Stakeholder Brunch in celebration of National Health Center Week.

We are incredibly grateful for the strong partnerships that help us serve our community each day. Thank you to the Pickens County Board of Education, Superior Court, Accountability Court, Pickens Chamber of Commerce, Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, and the District Attorney’s Office for your continued collaboration and support.

We were also honored to welcome leaders from GPCA, State Representative Rick Jasperse, Chief Superior Court Judge Brenda Weaver, members of our Board of Directors, our dedicated leadership team, and our amazing volunteers.

Together, we are strengthening the health of our community by ensuring quality medical, dental, behavioral health, vision, and pharmacy services are accessible to those who need them most.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the impact of community health centers and the power of working together. Happy National Health Center Week!

Today, our Good Samaritan Health & Wellness Center team has been out in the community celebrating National Health Center Week! 💙

We started the morning at the Pickens County Library Health Fair, then stopped by the Pickens County Courthouse and the Pickens County Jail. We have loved meeting new friends, reconnecting with familiar faces, and sharing all that Good Sam has to offer.
