💜 Meet the Board Behind the Mission

Behind neighborhood bridges is a dedicated group of board members who believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

They bring their time, experience, ideas, and passion to help guide our mission and strengthen our impact.

We’re grateful for the leadership and dedication they bring to neighborhood bridges and the students and families we serve.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us make a difference, one student at a time.

Teachers shouldn’t have to pay out of pocket to meet their students’ needs.

In 2025, teachers spent an average of $895 of their own money on school supplies.
At neighborhood bridges, we believe teachers should be focused on teaching—not using their own paychecks to make sure students have basic needs.

That’s another one of the reasons neighborhood bridges exists: to help remove those barriers and support the teachers who show up for our students every day.

We’re Hiring: National Area Director

Neighborhood bridges is growing—and we’re looking for the right person to help us take our mission to communities across the country.

We’re seeking a part-time, remote National Area Director to lead our exciting new partnership with the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) and help expand the neighborhood bridges model nationwide.

This is an opportunity to be part of something bigger: connecting schools, communities, and caring people to help remove the basic-needs barriers that can stand in the way of a student’s ability to learn and succeed.

💜 Basic Needs Are Mental Health Needs, Too.

For students, not having the things they need can be about more than comfort. It can affect confidence, belonging, relationships, and how they feel walking into the classroom each day.

Meeting basic needs can help remove the stress and isolation that can stand between a student and their ability to thrive.

Meeting basic needs helps create a school experience where students can focus less on what they’re missing and more on learning, connecting, and being part of their community.

We’ve launched an exciting partnership with the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) and The Sandlin Foundation for Kids & Kindness. Take a moment to watch the news coverage featuring David Bannister and Mo Canady.

The three organizations are bringing relationships, resources, and technology together to help schools identify students’ unmet needs—and to connect those needs with people in the community who are ready to help.

This partnership gives us the opportunity to bring that support to more communities and, ultimately, to more students with the help of the SROs already in our schools.

💜 Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Today, we’re celebrating the teachers who show up every single day for their students—often doing far more than anyone sees.

At neighborhood bridges, supporting the people who support our students is incredibly important to us. We’re grateful for the teachers who give so much of themselves to help students learn, grow, and believe in what’s possible.

Thank you for showing up. Thank you for caring. Thank you for making a difference. 💜
