Detective Wanda Williams with the Newton County Sheriff’s Department is our Law Enforcement Officer of the Week! Detective Williams has been with the department for 10 years, and specializes in assault and s*x crime cases. When she’s not at the department, Wanda is at school continuing her own education and is well on her way to earning her Masters Degree. She also teaches Law Enforcement classes at Crowder College. Sheriff Chris Jennings says he’s amazed everyday at her dedication to the department due to her full schedule, and says she never hesitates to take a call to cover a case no matter the time of day.

Carl Junction Police Officer Stephanie Castlebury is our officer of the week! Officer Castlebury has been with the department for 10 years and also serves as the Carl Junction School Resource Officer. Chief Delmar Haase says Stephanie is dependable, loved by the community, and one of the hardest working officers to ever work in his department. She conducts the majority of the child abuse and s*x crime investigations, and has even opened up her home to numerous foster kids over the years with her wife Brandy.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy George Datum is our officer of the week! Deputy Datum has been married to the love his life for 5 years, and has been with the department for nearly 10 years. He started out as a detention officer, moving his way up to a road patrol, and now serves as a K-9 Deputy with his dog Hollie along his side for the past 4 years. Sheriff Randee Kaiser says Datum is a hard-working guy who always gives 100 percent, even assisting other departments with Hollie.
