Ever since Layla was little, she used to call dandelion fluffs "wishberry blossoms," and they have always had a special meaning in our family. Layla was a beautiful blossom in this world, and her seeds of love spread far and wide. They were planted in so many hearts throughout her young life, and our wish is to continue to spread those seeds.
Layla was funny, creative, and loved like no other. She made sure that those around her felt that love. She never met a stranger, and anyone that ever met her found a friend. She loved to make others happy, to lift their spirits if they were having a bad day..
We believe that this world is better with her in it, and that love never fails (Corinthians 13:8).
We believe that loving others is like blowing on a wishberry–as the dandelion plumes spread, the seeds are planted, and they become more blossoms that can grow and bloom and manifest even more seeds of love.
We believe that love is the only thing that heals hearts, and we hope to spread not only the love of others, but Christ’s love in memory of our Layla..
We hope to love like she did, because that love still remains. Our wish is to spread seeds of love in our community, in the hearts of children, animals, the vulnerable and those around them, so that those seeds may grow and blossom into their hearts.
Layla Raines passed away on May 31, 2017 at the age of 15. Even though her time on this earth was short, her love and life and impact have grown well beyond that. We know that Layla served her purpose in this world, and we hope to continue to fulfill that purpose as well as the one set out before us.
We believe:
Because He first loved us (1 John 4:19)
and
The greatest of these is love (1Corinthians 13: 13)
