Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 15th Annual EAB Softball Tournament this weekend! We were able to have a storm-free weekend, which is unheard of for EAB. Even though it was hot we still were able to have a great weekend.
If you've ever been involved in EAB before, you'll know we always give credit where credit is due. Here are some things people helped with behind the scenes:
• The raffle tent - Thank you to everyone who helped by donating to our raffle. Thank you to Dustin Cooper for the spiderz gear and Tim Raymond for contributing to our raffle table last minute. Thank you Lisa Bauler for being able to help run the table this year.
• We brought back the beer-drinking contest again this year, and Team EAB, won again this year dispite it being so hot out, and that drinks were limited. We always appreciate your guys' continued support of Easton's over the years. Congratulations!
• Outlaw Light stepped up as our beer sponsor for a second year, letting Easton’s Cause keep 100 percent of the profits on every Outlaw Light sold. A huge shout-out to Corey Lindsey for making this happen!
• We had 22 teams sign-up this year. One teams dropped out at the last minute, but Maryellen was a beast and rallied people to fill the free agent team once again.
Congrats to our 1-0 Bracket Champs Wiedmeyer Express and our 0-1 Bracket Champs Willowdale and Wandos, though it ended in a draw you guys fought hard in the heat, good job to both teams on your shared victory.
None of this would have run so smoothly without Mike Bauler and Maryellen Sullivan (and our dedicated umps Trent Kobs, Mike Stone, Bryce Davis and Sean McCann) working in the sun all weekend. Shout out to the many players who stepped in to field ump throughout the day on Saturday. And a giant thank you to our concession stand crew: Lindsey (for holding down concessions), Matt (with an occasional assist from Colby) and Wendy on the grill, and Jessa, Cami, Sophia, Sylvia, Colby, Ashley, Spring and Tonya for keeping everyone fed and happy.
Thank you to Andy Bauler, Lindsey and Matt Thommesen, Wendy Drew, Maryellen Sullivan and Mike Stone for all of the running around you did to help get us ready for this event! And Meagan for your clean up skills around the park.
Thank you to everyone who donated $16 or bought cupcakes from the concessions stand in honor of Easton's 16th Birthday.
Thank you to everyone involved in helping surprise Terry, it was truly a heartfelt and meaningful side benefit to help one of our own. We love you Terry!
Finally, thank you to everyone who played, cheered, ate, and bought raffle tickets. Your enthusiasm and generosity keep The EAB alive and thriving!
We are sadly unable to hold Swinger’s Ball (Labor Day) this year, but we will be back with EAB again next year, and are working on other fundraising efforts in-between. Keep and eye out for announcements!
