The group went shopping at Wal-Mart for four different kids, two girls and two boys, from the Salvation Army's Angel Tree. They all had a good time picking out things for the kids and helping out our community!

Great day in the rabbit/cavy barn! Xavier got Best of Show with his rabbit. Megan Griffith got Best of Show with her cavy and won Advanced Showmanship with her rabbit.

Emmalynn Pack, Arabelle Lee, and Abel LeCates did great in Showmanship!

Our primary members Dallas Smith and Alexander Harvey did great in their Showmanship, as well.

We had two in Small Animal Master Showmanship, Megan Griffith and Abel LeCates. Unfortunately, it wasn't their year. But great experience!

Swine Show was today! We had 3 young men representing our club!

Ezra Meadows swine were both market ready and won 8th in True Novice Showmanship. Boaz Meadows and Wyatt Smith got market ready their gorgeous pigs!! Look for them all on Sunday, along with our sheep and turkey from yesterday!

This week is our Lassen County Fair! Due to the fact that this young man started working for as a fireman, TWO DAYS after he graduated from High school, he's going to miss his last opportunity to participate as a 4-H member or FFA member at the Junior Livestock Auction on Sunday, July 23. He just found this out yesterday evening.

So, after the Auction, we will be having a private sale on Facebook. We will make sure to coordinate with as many business and agencies as possible, to make sure that Reece's last year is still an amazing year. He's worked hard raising a great product, as well as graduating High School, taking classes at the college to prepare for his job in fire, compete at FBLA and FFA competitions, competed at Western Nationals in Denver, Colorado in January 2023, and completed his Emerald Star project for 4-H.

Keep an eye out this week for more information to come!

COUNTDOWN!!! Please remember... only 5 more days until FAIR ENTRIES are no longer accepted for the Lassen County Fair 2023! DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE! Thursday, June 15, at 5pm is the cut off for animal and most still exhibits for 4-H and FFA. Contact me - Loel Griffith on my cell if you need any help or signatures. I will not be available Wednesday or Thursday.

Arts & Crafts members - Please enter your wreaths, paintings and any rocks you liked into the Fair.

If you want to enter Table Settings, we can help you do that too.

If there are other items you want to enter and need help completing, they are a $1 per still exhibit entry. Enter, and we'll try to get it done. Let enter lots of cool stuff!

PS - Please take copies of your entries. It makes things easier at fair to know what classes your in, keep track of still exhibits, etc.

Please note: Our February meeting, only, has been moved due to several conflicts. Our February club meeting will be Thursday, March 2nd at 7pm. Our March meeting will be held on our regular meeting date of Wednesday, March 29 at 7pm.

I've been trying to post this for days and my phone wouldn't let me. We wanted to thank everyone that's been so very supportive of our team, Megan Griffith and Reece Ewing, that are going to be heading to the National Stock Show too represent Lassen County 4-H and California 4-H, as a whole. They are two of just three kids that are going to this show and it's a BIG SHOW! We couldn't do this without the support of our community! Every bit of the money to get to this show in Denver, Colorado has to be through fundraising/donations. Some of y'all know we were doing an opportunity drawing for a Safe donated at cost by Tractor Supply in Susanville. The drawing was held on Dec 20th and we filmed it. Thank you so much for all the donations!!! The WINNER WAS LAURIE JOHNSON from Susanville Ford!!! They are located at 704-485 Richmond Road and have been a big supporter of 4-H past and present. Thank you also to the Sheriff's Posse and Forrest Office Equipment, along with every single person that donated.

Our trip and competition take place Jan 4-7, 2023 and we will post how everything goes and Susanville Stuff know as well.

If anyone has any questions, would like to add to the donations or anything else, please message. Thank you all again! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and A Blessed New Year!!!
