๐ŸŒฑ Our Rapid Rehousing life skills group had a wonderful time at the Merrill Community Sharing Garden. Participants learned about growing their own fruits, vegetables, and plants, and even got the opportunity to plant something to take home and care for themselves.

A huge thank you to Kaelyb for hosting us and sharing your expertise!

This Thankful Thursday, we are grateful to celebrate high school graduations with 11 of the youth who are currently residing in our TLPs or are active in our community case management. We are so proud of them for overcoming countless barriers and challenges to achieve this significant milestone.

We also are thankful for you - our community of supporters who attend our events, fulfill our wish lists, and support us financially. You make it possible for our staff to walk along side this year's graduates and dozens of other youth whose stories are still unfolding.

Thank you for following us on Facebook & Instagram, thank you for sharing our events, thank you for showing up for us and the youth we serve. Our youth are able to achieve their goals and reach new heights because of your support.

At a 2026 graduation ceremony, a student spoke about the difference between the family you're born into and the family you choose. For many of the youth we serve, that message resonates deeply. While their journeys may look different, they have found encouragement, support, and belonging through the caring adults and advocates in their lives.

As our graduating seniors prepare for their next chapter, we're asking for your help. Gift cards to ๐“š๐”€๐“ฒ๐“ด ๐“ฃ๐“ป๐“ฒ๐“น and ๐“ฆ๐“ธ๐“ธ๐“ญ๐“ถ๐“ช๐“ท'๐“ผ ๐“–๐“ป๐“ธ๐“ฌ๐“ฎ๐“ป๐”‚ ๐“ข๐“ฝ๐“ธ๐“ป๐“ฎ provide practical support as they transition into adulthood, helping with essentials like food, gas, and household items.

The support our youth receive from Project 16:49 is only possible because of the support we receive from our community. Thank you for being part of their chosen family and helping them move forward with confidence.

๐Ÿ’™ Gift cards can be dropped off at our office or mailed to 2911 Carrousel Lane in Janesville.

If youโ€™ve attended one of our recent events or youth panels, youโ€™ve heard firsthand how advocacy raises awareness about the hundreds of unaccompanied youth in our community experiencing homelessness.

This is often how youth first learn about Project 16:49 โ€” through community members who recognize a need, start a conversation, or share our mission.

Just this month alone, community members connected youth to our program, helping them take the first step toward safety, stability, and support.

Help creates hope.
Hope reminds youth they are not alone.
And hope can be the first step toward a more stable and secure future.

Homelessness and mental health are deeply connected.
Thank you for helping us advocate for our youth.

After one of our case managers shared a recent situation with us, we updated our Amazon Wish List.

Youth living in their cars face exposure to all kinds of weather while also trying to manage with extremely limited space. The bags we added can make a meaningful difference for youth who are living in their vehicles or unsure where they will spend the next night.

Your continued support means so much to us โ€” and to the youth we serve, it can mean safety, hope, and knowing they are not alone.

Thank you to our wonderful friends at Janesville Morning Rotary Club. We are grateful for your continued support of our work and that of so many other amazing local organizations. It is always inspiring to hear the incredible ways in which these grants will impact so many in our community. ๐Ÿ’š

A huge thank you to Ms. Karlen and her 2nd grade class at Lincoln Academy for choosing our girls house for their service day project! ๐Ÿ’œ

The students put together thoughtful care bags filled with face masks, hygiene items, socks, hair accessories, and sweet handwritten notes for our residents. Their kindness and generosity truly made our girls feel supported and cared for.
