Mercyhealth Representation at the WAFP Winter Refresher
Residents and faculty from Mercyhealth Family Medicine (Lake Geneva and Janesville) were proudly represented at the recent Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians (WAFP) Winter Refresher, contributing to scholarly discussions and highlighting the program’s commitment to academic excellence and community-focused care.
Several Mercyhealth residents presented posters showcasing clinical insights and initiatives in family medicine:
• “Fever with Rash in a 5-Year-Old” – Farah Shaukat, MD, PGY-3, Mercyhealth Lake Geneva
• Clinical Case: "A Persistent Case of Lyme's in Primary Care" – Gabrielle Saden, MD, PGY-2, Mercyhealth Lake Geneva
• Family Medicine Awareness Initiative – Masa Kinosh*ta, MD, PGY-3, Mercyhealth Lake Geneva
• Clinical Outcomes Review: "Cervical Cancer Detection within 5 year Window" – Tehreem Siddiqui, MD, PGY-3; Cassandra Cabanas, MD, PGY-2; Emma Cheung, MD, PGY-2, Mercyhealth Janesville
In addition to these scholarly contributions, Dr. Farah Shaukat completed her two-year tenure as Resident Director with the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians, demonstrating Mercyhealth’s strong presence in physician leadership and advocacy.
We also want to congratulate Dr.Suhail Shaikh, Program Director of the Mercyhealth Family Medicine Residency in Janesville, on his induction as President-Elect of the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians.
