Wambaw Trail Riders

10/18/2026

Wambaw riders, we've worked hard as volunteers out here—but these trails are getting to be a handful for us! We were told plans for a major groom were in the works for October (but realistically, probably within the next month). 👏 We'll be up at Enoree to assist soon, but will try to get back out to do some more raking for you when we can. 😊

🌲 HEADS UP RIDERS! 🌲

There's a tree down on North Long! 🚧 We'll head out to get it cleared later today. 🪚

Huge thanks to Tradd for reporting it! 🙌 That's exactly how we keep these trails safe, so keep the reports coming!

⚠️ Good reminder: Always expect the unexpected, especially after any storms. Ride at a pace where you can stop, and watch for downed trees and debris. 🌧️

**🚨 REMINDER: NORTH LOOP CLOSED SATURDAY 🚨**

Wambaw North is closed **Saturday, Oct 10** for an active dog hunt. Please stay off North and give the hunters and hounds their space. 🐕

⚠️ **HEADS UP:** Side road gates have NOT been closed. An open gate does NOT mean the area is open during hunts! Please spread the word to friends & neighbors: riders, hunters & locals. 🙏

**Now the good news! 🙌**
We've worked the **shorts AND intermediates on both North and South, and they're in AWESOME condition!🔥 With rain on the way, it's going to be some **GREAT riding** this fall! 🌧️🍂

✅ South Loop is open and in great condition
⚠️ North reopens after the hunt

WHOOPS? TAMED! 🏍️💨

Wambaw's North and South Intermediate trails were SEVERELY whooped out, so Chris and Steph spent the past two days doing something about it! 💪 We reduced the whoops and raked the full North AND South Intermediate, then went back over the worst short sections again and again until they were right. 🙌

We axed, trimmed, remarked hazards and worked to get ready for prime season!

Right now it's dry and dusty, but rain is on the way and cooler weather is rolling in behind it. That means tacky dirt and some seriously great fall riding is coming! 🌧️➡️🍂

This was just the two of us, out there on our own time because we love these trails. If you ride Wambaw and want to help keep it rideable, consider donating to the cause. 🤘
