Fentress Hope Foundation Pauses Easter Egg Hunt for 2026, Continues Commitment to Community
Established in 2014, the Fentress Hope Foundation continues its mission of supporting friends and neighbors throughout Fentress County. Since its founding, the organization has provided approximately $3.5 million in community assistance, with every dollar remaining local.
Throughout the year, the Foundation hosts several events that bring the community together while helping support those in need. Among these are the Mother-Daughter Tea and the Crown of Hope Pageant, which recently concluded.
This year, the Foundation has made the decision to take a brief pause from hosting its Easter Egg Hunt at South Fentress Park. The event has grown significantly over the years, featuring between 15,000 and 20,000 eggs across six or seven age divisions.
After thoughtful consideration and in response to community feedback regarding gift selections, Foundation leadership determined that stepping back this year would provide an opportunity for reflection and planning. During this time, the organization will evaluate the event and consider the best path forward, with plans to reassess between now and 2027 whether the Easter Egg Hunt will return to the community calendar.
The Foundation emphasized that the success of its work would not be possible without the tremendous support of the community. Volunteers have generously given their time not only by attending events, but also by helping organize activities, fill eggs, and contribute in countless other ways.
As the Easter season approaches, the Fentress Hope Foundation reflects on the meaning of Christ’s resurrection and renewal. The organization remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the community and looks forward to continuing its mission through upcoming events and year-round assistance.
The Foundation extends its gratitude to the community and wishes everyone a blessed and holy Easter season.
