Humane Society of Tuolumne County Come visit us! We are open from 9:30AM to 3:00PM Tuesday-Saturday. In addition, the HSOTC has programs available that enhance our community at large.

The Humane Society of Tuolumne County (HSOTC) has consistently found homes for an average of 220 cats and dogs per year. Our staff and dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to care for these animals, providing them with the second chance they so greatly deserve. Supplying food, shelter, exercise, medical care, vaccinations, and love until our residents find their new forever home. For instance, the

Low-Income Spay/Neuter Voucher Program as well as the feline-specific SNAP program assists low-income individuals and families by easing the financial hardship of spaying or neutering their pets. The HSOTC also provides free humane education classes and presentations to the community in order to teach individuals and families how to become more responsible pet owners. Emergency veterinarian assistance and pet food are among some of the other vital outreach services hat the shelter provides. The HSOTC receives funding only in the form of donations and fundraising efforts. We receive no government funding nor are we associated with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). This is why it is so important that our community be aware of these simple facts; we need the support of our community in order to survive. Support can come in the form of volunteerism, general donations, membership, pledge-to-give sustaining program, and attending HSOTC events. It is also important that this message is spread throughout our community - and we need your help getting the message out. By supporting the HSOTC, you are helping us to find forever homes for the homeless animals of Tuolumne County.

Many times the black kitties are overlooked and passed over. This seems to be the case for Stefan and his brother, Damon. They’re very sweet, playful, and lovable boys who have watched all their siblings and friends come and go. We hope it’s their turn soon! You can find them in the kitten play room every day we’re open. Come by to meet them this week! ❤️

Last weekend was a huge success! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Rummage to the Rescue sale. Together you raised $3500 for animals at the shelter like Rocko (pictured). ❤️

**We still have leftover items from the sale. If you’re in need of clothing, household/kitchen goods, or pet crates and supplies please stop by the shelter this week (9:30AM-3PM Tues-Sat) to see what we have and pick up what you need.

Along with a great rummage sale we had several animals go home thanks to the California Adopt-a-Pet Day event, including our most senior kitty, Blue. Thank you to everyone who adopted and came out to say hello. Remember, adopting saves more than just one animal- first thing this morning we went to Tuolumne County Animal Control to see who we can help next since we had kennels open up from the animals that went home. Thank you to the community for showing up and making a difference. We’ll introduce some new faces soon!
