Youth Group this Sunday
At youth group this week, we'll gather at 6 pm in St. Luke's Undercroft to explore the ways God creates beauty in brokenness through the wisdom of the Japanese art form, kintsugi, which repairs broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold. To fit the project in the timeframe of youth group (we wouldn't have time to let the lacquer dry), we'll be adapting the kintsugi method with hot glue guns and gold paint.
If youth have broken ceramic or pottery that they love (and can't quite part with), they are welcome to bring it on Sunday: We'll repair it together — and make it beautiful. (We'll have extra broken pottery for kids to fix, if they don't have or forget to bring their own.) Dinner Menu: Pizza & wings, with popcorn, carrots, celery, and dip.
