❤️🐶 Happy Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! 🐶❤️

Gizmo came to us from the city pound after he was found abandoned, tied up to a tree. He is such a goofball and is a very quirky boy! Gizzy is a ~3-4 years old Husky/Lab mix that would do best in a home with no small children (12+ is fine) and seems to prefer women, but has been just fine with some men, as well.

Gizmo is completely potty trained (I don’t think he’s ever had an accident during his year with us at the shelter!). Gizmo is great with every dog he has met (outside of the shelter). He does have some kennel stress, but everytime he’s gone on an outing, he’s done amazing! He does need a home with no cats, though.

Gizmo is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, dewormed, and current on Nexgard. His adoption fee is $175 through the month of October.

Sophie (dog) came to us originally last year as part of our Halloweentown litter, along with Marnie (adopted) and Dylan (adopted). All three are survivors of parvo! Sophie was in foster-to-adopt for a while while we waited for her to be old enough to be spayed, but she came back to us due to no fault of her own a few months ago.

A couple of weeks ago, a previous adopter and foster of ours asked to foster Sophie for a bit to see if she’d fit in with their family, and sure enough, she fits right in! Her adoption was made official last week! On top of that, they also adopted Benny (gray kitten) and Fiona (brown/white tabby cat) the same time they took Sophie into foster care!

Thank you to this amazing family for giving these 3 loving pets a second chance at a happy life! And congratulations, Benny, Fiona, & Sophie! Live your best lives! 🐶😺💕

❤️🐶 Happy National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! 🐶❤️

Flounder (aka Bellum) came to us from a reservation as a 3-month old puppy about a year ago with his two buddies, Abu (adopted) and Mushu (adopted). Flounder was adopted out when he was still a young puppy, but was returned a few months ago due to food aggression issues. We have not had any food aggression issues with him and people at all since he has been back at the shelter. He does get protective of his food if other dogs are around him while he is eating, though. This is solved pretty easily by feeding him and his kennel-mate separately.

Flounder is now ~1 - 1 1/2 years old. He is a husky/shepherd mix that is amazing with other dogs! He is a bit scared of cats, but would likely do just fine with a slow and proper introduction with them. He is currently kennel-mates with Dill (the lab mix in this video), who is very under-socialized with people. Flounder has been showing Dill that not all people and things are scary and how to be a dog! He is also potty trained and walks very nicely on leash. Flounder is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and current on Nexgard.

Flounder’s adoption fee is $175 through the month of October.

Looking for a loving couch potato to snuggle? Look no further - Kirk is your man! Kirk (often called Kirky, Kirky Jerky, or Kirky-poo) came to us back in January 2025 with his buddy, Spock (adopted). They were found running loose out by Hondo’s. Both suffered from minor frost bite wounds on their paw pads, noses, and ears. Kirk here was the first of the two caught - he hopped right in a kind couple’s vehicle to warm up, but Spock took an extra hour or two to catch. Unfortunately, the stress of being at the shelter got to Kirk and Spock very quickly, and we had to separate them. We have tried introducing Kirk to a few other dogs, and it went well only once, with another male dog. We think he’d prefer to be an only dog, where he gets all the love and attention!

Kirky has warmed up to everyone here and is VERY food/treat motivated. He’s SUPER smart and very routine-driven. He does seem to prefer women to men, but has met a few men and has done just fine (he’s just a little shy at first). He does have kennel stress and does not like meeting people through his kennel door - but if you meet him one-on-one, outside of his kennel, he is the sweetest boy! He also really enjoys fetch and going on walks! He has a large stuffy in his kennel with him that he doesn’t destroy, he uses it as a pillow! 🥰

Kirk’s adoption fee through the month of October is $125.

UPDATE: We found Blue safe and he is on his way back home! As we expected, he was bee-bopping around, taking in all the smells, but came right up to us when one of our dog managers spotted him. Thank you to everyone that kept an eye out and shared this post! 🐶

‼️HELP ‼️

Baloo (now Blue) slipped his leash and took off on his adopter a little bit ago! We are currently out trying to help his adopter find him. If you see him, please call Julia ASAP at 701-269-5624!

He was last seen in a neighborhood between Dollar General and the Civic Center here in Jamestown. We want to make sure we can get him back home safe! We do not think he’s in “fight or flight” mode, he’s a very curious, goofy boy and is likely enjoying his adventure, but has everyone that knows him very concerned!

❤️🐶 Happy National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! 🐶❤️

Lennon (often called Lenny by his caretakers) here came to us from a neglect situation with his mother, Milena (adopted), back in February. Both of them were extremely malnourished, and took some time to get them up to a healthy weight. Despite what they had been through, both still have amazing personalities and a lot of love to give!

Lennon is a male ~1 1/2 - 2 year old black lab mix. He is a super friendly, loving guy! He gives lots of kisses and loves playing with both people and his canine friends! He is great with most other dogs (he can be a bit stand-offish when first meeting them, but usually warms up after about 10-15 minutes of hanging out with a new dog). He is unsure of small children, so would likely do best in a home with older (or no) kids (maybe 10+). He is also a little unsure of cats - he could potentially be ok with them, given time and proper introductions!

Lenny is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, dewormed, and on Nexgard. His adoption fee through the month of October is $175.

Looking for a super smart companion that loves to go-go-go? Twizzler here is your man!

Twizzler is a male 1-2 year old border collie mix that came to us from another ND pound when his time was up and no one claimed him. He was adopted a couple months ago but was returned recently because he kept picking on the small, older dog in the home. Because of this, we think he would do best in a home with another higher energy dog to play with. He would also likely do just fine by himself, as long as he is given things to do to keep him busy!

Twizzler is a playful little guy that is always up for fetch & tug-of-war, but is also EXTREMELY food motivated! He is a VERY smart boy and would also do great with a job to give him something to do! Twizzler’s adoption fee through the month of October is $175.
