Thank you to the Robert H. Jackson Center for hosting Thursday night’s thought-provoking conversation, Who Belongs in America?, with Boston University School of Law professor Robert Tsai.

The discussion explored the nation’s history of citizenship, immigration, national identity, and who gets to belong in America through a constitutional lens. Continuing to examine the actions of the United States and how they align with the values we aspire to embody as a country is essential to holding ourselves accountable to those ideals.

We're grateful to the Jackson Center for continuing to bring these important conversations to our community and for continuing to create these spaces for dialogue.

What a wonderful way to wrap up our first with CHQ Hispanic Development's Hispanic Heritage Festival!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table this past Saturday– we had a blast! And a BIG thank you to the organizers and volunteers who made this celebration possible.

Throughout , we had the opportunity to connect with our community in different spaces and have meaningful conversations about what welcoming and belonging look like across different sectors. We plan to keep living out these values throughout the year, and we hope you'll consider doing so as well! Try showing up to an event you've never been to before, or start a conversation with someone new.

We're truly so grateful to be part of a community that shows up for important conversations and continues to do this work with us. Thank you for making our first Welcoming Week so special. We will definitely be celebrating again next year. We hope to see you there! 🧡🩵

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Robert H. Jackson Center for our Community Conversation on Welcoming & Belonging. We’re especially grateful to our panelists: Daniel DeMarte, John Felton, Patricia Graves, and Twan Leenders for sharing their experiences and perspectives on what belonging can look like in our community spaces.

A huge thank you to Kristan McMahon for moderating such a thoughtful conversation, and to the Robert H. Jackson Center and Jamestown Justice Coalition for partnering with us to make the evening possible.

And finally, thank you to all those who attended and participated in this important conversation. These events only mean something if people are willing to show up and contribute, and we so appreciate the community for being a part of this.

We were incredibly grateful to sit down with the artists of Sun Kim Dance Theatre and Music From the Sole during Jamestown Dance Festival and hear directly from them about their experiences building lives and communities as artists in the United States.

After getting to see their incredible performances the night before, it was especially meaningful to hear more of the stories, challenges, relationships, and experiences behind the work they create.

Creating a more welcoming community starts, in part, with being willing to know one another more fully. To listen with curiosity, seek and engage different perspectives, find moments of shared experiences, and recognize what each of us brings to the places we share.

A huge thank you to the artists for sharing so openly with us, to Sukanya Burman for guiding such a thoughtful conversation, and to Sukanya Burman Dance and Jamestown Dance Festival for partnering with us to make this event possible. We were honored to have been a part of such a heart-warming conversation.

And thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create such a warm, engaged space. We are so fortunate to have gotten to be a part of JDF this year– we're already looking forward to next year!

Partner Highlights: Robert H. Jackson Center & Jamestown Justice Coalition

As part of , we’re grateful to partner with the Robert H. Jackson Center and the Jamestown Justice Coalition for a community conversation about what welcoming and belonging can look like across different sectors of our community.

On Wednesday, September 16 at 6pm at the Robert H. Jackson Center, local leaders from education, finance, conservation, and local history, and community development will come together to explore how the places and institutions we interact with every day can help create a stronger sense of belonging.

The Community Conversation: Welcoming & Belonging will be moderated by Kristan McMahon, President of the Robert H. Jackson Center, with panelists:

- John Felton, CEO of Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union
- Patricia Graves, Director of Chadakoin Valley Project
- Twan Leenders, Director of Conservation at Everwild Land Trust
