Confidence is not something we are handed. It is something we grow into, often in the company of women who remind us that our voices belong in the room. This past Saturday, we were honored to welcome Kemylee Brisport, LMSW, to YWLA26 for a real and engaging conversation on exactly that.
A Certified Trauma Professional, Doctor of Social Work candidate, and proud Guyanese Filipino New Yorker, Kemylee also serves as Ms. Executive New York 2026 and Ms. New York Legacy Ambassador. She brings all of that into every room she enters.
Kemylee shared her own journey, her career in social work, and the moments that shaped her path. She also spoke about what it means to embrace her Guyanese heritage, and how culture has shaped her identity, her leadership, and the way she shows up for young women. And finally, she reminded our girls to trust their voices, take up space, and define success on their own terms.
Thank you for stopping by the Academy, Kemylee. You showed up with honesty, warmth, and purpose, and you left our girls with something real to carry with them.
