Mrs. Patricia Chin, O.D., Co- founder of VP Records the world largest Reggae label was awarded a prestigious Citation by Major General (Ret’d) Ambassador Anthony Anderson last Thursday afternoon February 26th 2026, at the Jamaican embassy in Washington D.C. at the closing of Black History and Reggae month.

As a pioneer with more than 65 years in the international music industry, the legendary Ms. Pat, who grew from her small family business, Randy’s Record mart at 17 North Parade in Kingston Jamaica, the Reggae Mecca of a community for young talented Jamaican musicians of the 1960s and 70's to Jamaica Queens NY. Ms. Pat mold musicians and distribute the local music from Ska to Rocksteady to Reggae, on the global market.

With an intimate gathering of approximately 100 people, Ms. Pat stood with humility and pride of her achievement and acknowledgement in an industry she help create a lasting legacy for generations and her family.
