supports patients of the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital on their journey toward recovery, healing and hope by funding and providing arts, recreational, vocational and therapeutic support programs, services and supplies. Established in 1987, Shattuck Partners is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of patients of the
Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, a state-funded safety-net hospi

tal in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Each year, the Lemuel Shattuck is a beacon of hope for thousands of patients from all over the state who face complex diagnoses and extremely difficult life circumstances. The hospital provides excellent medical and psychiatric care, but doesn’t have the resources for supplemental activities and programs which can be as important as medical interventions for this vulnerable population. This is where Shattuck Partners steps in, providing vocational rehabilitation, therapeutic and expressive arts programming,
recreational activities and personal necessities to help prepare patients for healthy and successful transitions back to the community.

Here at Shattuck Partners, we understand how impactful social connection is to mental wellbeing. It promotes belonging, purpose, and hope. And for patients at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, events that foster engagement with the larger community help reduce isolation and fuel recovery. That is why we were so happy to support LSH staff and patients as they hit the pavement in the Boston NAMI walk last weekend! This is a joyous annual event where thousands come together in solidarity for mental health awareness and to counter stigma.

Shattuck Partners was delighted to assist the LSH NAMI team with fundraising and we look forward to sponsoring more community activities for patients throughout the year.

Shattuck Partners is thrilled to be at NE Conservatory's Jordan Hall for Swan Lake: A Collection of Realities. Tonight's concert benefits one of our dear partners, Tunefoolery Music. Tunefoolery is a Boston non-profit organization for musicians in mental health recovery and they have performed for patients at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital for many years. Patients cherish the group's monthly sessions which break up the monotony of long-term hospitalization. Shattuck Partners is honored to support the musical gifts of healing, hope, and inspiration that Tunefoolery brings to patient lives.

GIVING TUESDAY - With the season of giving upon us, please don't forget the impact your donation will have on the patients of Lemuel Shattuck Hospital.

For over 35 years, Shattuck Partners has endeavored to improve the quality of life for patients through art, therapeutic, musical and social programs. Without your generous contributions, patients at this vital public health hospital would go without the enrichment, recreation, and skill-building our organization provides.

As an example of one of our recent events, scroll through the photos below from our annual Fall Festival this past October! Patients had a blast welcoming the season with pumpkin decorating, music, an ice cream social, and entertainment from a floating magician. Shattuck Partners staff also visited each unit and handed out festive socks to patients. It was a fun day of smiles and sundaes that wouldn't have been possible without the support of our fantastic donors!!

For many, the holiday season signifies time spent with loved ones, special meals and traditions, and reflecting on life’s blessings. However, many others lack these opportunities and the holidays are a reminder of what they go without.

This Giving Tuesday, consider a donation to Shattuck Partners. Since 1987, we have supported patients of Lemuel Shattuck Hospital who experience housing instability, financial hardship, nutritional instability and other complex health and social needs. Donations will ensure Shattuck Partners can continue sponsoring meaningful, healing programs and services, such as:

☆ Holiday gift items for patients who otherwise go empty-handed
☆ Backpacks filled with toiletries and other life essentials
☆ Nutrition support for patients with chronic illness
