Diamond Educators Mentoring, Inc.

Diamond Educators Mentoring, Inc. Diamond Educators Mentoring Inc.(DEMI) is a nonprofit organization was established in 2001. Diamond Educators Mentoring Inc.

We specialize in mentoring, strategies to improve behavior, and the building blocks to maintain integrity and self-esteem. was established to create opportunities for young men and women that would otherwise be stranded by their inability to access resources and support. The organization as a whole teaches young men and women how to foster healthy relationships. More importantly, we are committed

to providing a stable environment that promotes self empowerment. The members who join DEMI are introduced to life changing and life altering experiences through storytelling, role playing, job seeking, and independent learning. They embark on a journey that leads them toward a pathway of success; they are given all the resources, support, and tools necessary to make good decisions and lead healthy and productive adult lives. The most unique element of DEMI that distinguishes itself apart from any other mentoring entity is the notion that once you are a member, you are family. DEMI originated because a group of men wanted to give back to the community by providing a safe haven for young men to grow. At one point or another each of the founders was forced to deal with tragedy and adversity that could have stunted their success, and most certainly could have led them down a road of self destruction. However, instead of cowering in defeat, each of these men rose to the occasion, and faced the obstacles life threw at them with dignity and grace. These obstacles were the impetus for DEMI. Their resilience led to wisdom, and now they share their struggles with the young men they service today. It is through experience that we gain knowledge and knowledge wreaks opportunity. The young men and women who are involved with DEMI share the same vision as their mentors. They want to flourish and reap the benefits of the lessons learned from years of experience. In turn, many of the members will become mentors one day and the circle will be complete. In an effort to maximize the potential of each of our members we believe in the administration of a holistic approach. It is not enough to simply focus on the educational and career needs of our members. Rather, it is our philosophical belief that we must address the whole person, including the mental and emotional well-being of our members. The success of an individual is a reflection of one’s character. We view our role as mentors as an opportunity to shape young minds. Furthermore, it is our privilege to work with young adults, often at their lowest points, and empower them to envision a future filled with promise. We prepare each and every member to succeed at any juncture in life. In doing so, we not only make an impact on the lives of our members—we have a profound impact on the community at large.
