The gift of softness is that it allows you to come into yourself slowly, accidentally, intentionally, assuredly. Because life has Black women constantly reshaping and carving our outer & inner beings without time to reflect, our bodies sometimes we misidentify & internalize negative messaging from our transformations. It is a gift to have the only expectation of your movement be rooted in exploration of self and not servitude of others.
Thank you to everyone who attended— for trusting to gather you in safety with for the opportunity to heal in community and let your bodies sing, remember, & establish. From stretching together, writing together, singing together, and consuming tea this experience was meant to leave every body part feeling nourished & remembered.
