Over the last week or two we brought in over $1,000 in our fundraiser. It’s slowing down a bit - people are focused on getting in the last of summer? But we aren’t slowing down in our renovations. We’ve had a plumber come in, scheduled an electrician, and have new cabinets ready for installation.
Please don’t let our dream of a new, modern, accessible, and visible public resource be forgotten! Donate today by sending a check (we welcome any amount) to Jaffrey Historical Society, 10 Goodnow St Jaffrey NH 03452 or securely donate online at the link below! Thank you!

The Jaffrey Murals Exhibition will open Saturday August 15 at 4:00pm

Reception – Saturday August 15 5:00 – 7:00pm

The Jaffrey Civic Center is proud to display the murals that were commissioned by DD Bean & Sons in 1992 to observe the 100 anniversary of the paper bookmatch. Karen Becker, renowned Vermont muralist, was retained to direct the creation of the murals. We are pleased to announce that Karen Becker has agreed to be at the opening and is hoping to visit with others who worked on the murals.

IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROJECT, PLEASE COME TO THE OPENING RECEPTION TO SHARE YOUR STORIES WITH KAREN.

The exhibition opening will begin at 4pm with a talk “Jaffrey Civic Center Through the Years” given by Sean Driscoll .

A reception will follow with live music. A silent auction piece commemorating Jaffrey Civic Center created by artist Lee Sawyer will also be a part of the evenings events.

Refreshments will be served. As always free and open to the public.

It was a BIG week for our fundraising campaign! Over $11,000 this week. Thank you so much!
Although we have received three $1,000 donors, and one anonymous $10,000 donor (our eyes bugged out!), the VAST majority of our donations have been $100 or less. No matter how big or small, we greatly appreciate your generosity. Jaffrey is an awesome place!
Also, please see the article Ashley Saari wrote in last Tuesday's Ledger-Transcript about our new headquarters!

The Jaffrey Historical Society is renovating the former Jaffrey Town Office on Goodnow Street to create a new, accessible headquarters and educational space.

Week two of our fundraiser, and we brought in another $2,250! Thank you for donating! If you have not, please consider donating to our fundraiser for our new facility! We are moving out of the Civic Center basement and into 10 Goodnow Street, and the work continues. Here, past president Charlie Turcotte is working on updating our new kitchenette!

The JHS is happy to launch our New Headquarters Fundraising Campaign! Soon Jaffrey residents and businesses will receive a mailer explaining our fundraising campaign- our first in many decades. We are trying to raise $75,000 for renovations to the old Town Offices on Goodnow Street to make into our new home! This will allow us to become a true community asset for researchers, students, classrooms, or anyone interested about Jaffrey. You can give securely online using the link below or the QR code. Or, you can mail them to the Jaffrey Historical Society, 10 Goodnow St, Jaffrey NH 03452. We have several donation tiers with some fun gifts, but any donation large or small will be truly appreciated. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and do not take taxpayer dollars. Thank you in advance for your generosity, Jaffrey!
