We had an absolutely wonderful time celebrating at our Monadnock at Home Holiday Party! The festivities were made even brighter by the presence of our longtime member, Eleanor McQueen, who is 99 years young and joined us in the fun. From all of us at Monadnock at Home, we wish you a very Merry Christmas filled with joy, warmth, and togetherness!

Thank you to Sean and all of our soup volunteers who deliver delicious soup generously donated by our friends at Mayfair Farm. Today, as a special surprise for our soup recipients, our volunteers also delivered these beautiful holiday bouquets! Monadnock at Home volunteer Kathy Birkebak recently had a workshop at the Peterborough Town Library for the purpose of making these lovely evergreen bouquets to share around the community! Thank you to everyone involved in brightening the day for so many Monadnock at Home members!

Yesterday, the Monadnock at Home Coffee Group got fancy with an English tea! MaH member Rod had the idea to have a tea party and recruited fellow member - and our own English rose - Linda to help him host. They put on a fabulous spread with finger sandwiches, scones - some made by Rod’s daughter! - jams and clotted cream. Tuesday’s storm caused us to move from our usual Coffee Group day to yesterday, and some members were still waiting to be plowed out and missed the festivities. But not to worry - everyone had such a great time that Rod wants to do it again in the Spring! Thank you to our wonderful hosts and to our friends at the Jaffrey Civic Center for being so accommodating! If you would like more information on MaH’s Coffee Group, our next tea party or any of our other programs please call (603) 371-0809 or email [email protected].

On this we are celebrating the gift of friendship & we are reminded that many older adults in our region spend their days feeling isolated and alone. But at Monadnock at Home, simple moments like gathering for our weekly coffee group can change everything.

Here, neighbors become friends. Conversations spark laughter. Connections grow. And older adults who once felt alone rediscover a sense of belonging and community.

This Giving Tuesday, you can be the reason another older neighbor doesn’t feel alone. Your gift brings safety, dignity, and hope to seniors who want nothing more than to find friendship, connection, and joy while they stay in the homes they love.

As we gathered for "Friendsgiving" this year, we gave thanks for the many people in our community who give of their time, talents, and resources to support our mission.

We want to take a moment to recognize and thank the incredible volunteers of Monadnock at Home, as well as the generous supporters and donors who make our work possible.

Our dedicated volunteers give their time, compassion, and energy to support older adults throughout the Monadnock Region, offering rides, running errands, making friendly visits and calls, and lending a helping hand wherever it’s needed. Their kindness helps our members stay connected, supported, and confidently living at home.

And to our supporters and donors- your generosity strengthens every part of this work. Your belief in our mission ensures that older adults in our community have the resources and support they need to thrive at home.

We are deeply grateful for all you do, not just during the holiday season, but all year long.

To our volunteers, supporters, and donors, thank you for the heart you bring to this community.

Wishing everyone a warm and joyful Thanksgiving!

Wonderful turnout at our Aging in Place presentation—31 attendees!
We explored how to decide if staying in your home is the right choice, the importance of having a plan, and the 5 key areas to consider. Everyone left with helpful tools: a personal plan worksheet, fall-prevention tips, a home safety checklist, and our local resource guide.

Monadnock at Home is here to support older adults in living safely and confidently at home—through resources, connections, and one-on-one guidance. If you missed the session (or attended and want to go deeper), we’re happy to visit you in your home to talk about how we can support you.

We’re grateful for the great discussion and proud to serve our community.

What a beautiful day in the Monadnock Region! Today Monadnock at Home members had fun in the sun with a stunning view of Mt. Monadnock! We gathered at The Shattuck Golf Course and had a great time on their Mini Golf course. After our round of golf we went inside and enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Dublin Road Taproom and Eatery. A good time was had by all! For information about upcoming programs, call 603-371-0809 or email [email protected].
