Our Story
TEAM Jaffrey follows the four-point approach to the revitalization of Main Street that includes components of Economic Support, Design, Promotion and Outreach. These four points are developed as a foundation for local initiatives to revitalize their Main Street or neighborhood districts by leveraging local assets. These assets are rooted in cultural or architectural heritage and expand to local business support and community pride. The TEAM Jaffrey organization consists of a Board of Directors, Executive Director, Committee Members, and volunteers. While continuing to preserve the historical aspects of downtown Jaffrey, our purpose is also to encourage small business and entrepreneurs that will promote the growing of our local economy. Shops and services with a local focus, and solely owned businesses provide the uniqueness that is downtown Jaffrey. As an organization, TEAM Jaffrey is working for all of downtown Jaffrey. The downtown area consists of the businesses, shops, restaurants, and library along Main Street and Peterborough Street corridors. The services we provide are restoration consultation, facade and signage grants, development and coordination of promotional events, coordinating shared advertising opportunities, and hosting the Jaffrey Commons website for small and home-based businesses. By working to serve the businesses, TEAM Jaffrey is also helping the community become stronger and more united. TEAM Jaffrey is working primarily to promote the growth of a local economy in times of a recession. Our goal is to provide an accessible and welcoming downtown area, not only for the citizens of Jaffrey, but also for the surrounding towns and visitors alike. TEAM Jaffrey is a non-profit organization led by a board of directors and one paid staff person. Income is derived from fundraising, special events, sponsorships, and funding from the town of Jaffrey tax increment funding district.
