With colder days ahead, it's a perfect time to visit the JCC and pick up a book for cozy indoor reading. Both the adult and children's selections have been updated today, including new options for tweens and teens. Feel free to borrow and donate one if you are able – or just return what you borrow when finished so others can enjoy it too. Thank you!

📢 One month from today, Blandin Foundation Scholarship applications open!

These awards – $1,000 to $6,000 per student each year – are for every student of high schools in the Itasca County area and Hill City, Remer, Blackduck, Northome and Bug O Nay Ge Shig schools, regardless of class rank. Homeschooled and online students who would have graduated from one these schools are also eligible.

You can apply if you are under age 25, your Student Aid Index (SAI) from the FAFSA is under 30,000, and you plan to pursue certificate programs, community technical or tribal college, and colleges or universities anywhere in the United States.

Our awesome community has two events this weekend!

Tonight: Friday, Nov 14, is the Jacobson Fire Department Chili Feed and Cash Raffle! They’ve made some big improvements to the hall this year and they invite you to come check it out, and meet some new volunteers!

Tomorrow: Saturday, Nov 15, is the Jacobson Community Center’s Annual Hunter’s Supper Spaghetti Feed! We have been blessed with a grant and completely remodeled our kitchen (and then some)! Come check it out!

Both of these organizations would appreciate your support this weekend! Plus, you don’t have to cook either night!

NOW OPEN!!

The Neighborhood Cupboard is available 24/7 at the JCC in the West Lot. It is there for anyone who needs it! We can each help those experiencing food insecurity right now.

If you need something, take it. The cupboard will be updated with new products regularly so you will want to check it at least weekly.

If you have a non-perishable item to donate, leave it! Lists of needed items will be posted so you can donate anytime.
