This is what a weekend looks like for Able’s Legacy Rescue.

🐾 A dog coming into our care who will need TTT surgery on two legs.

🐾 Ford, saved from behavioral euthanasia and now needing significant medical care and diagnostics.

🐾 A family dog battling Stage 4 kidney failure that we’re trying to help through an incredibly difficult time.

🐾 New dogs just brought into safety and beginning their journey toward a better life. And more coming every single day!

🐾 The ongoing care of the MHP community cats, including food, shelter, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and medical needs.

Some days rescue is one emergency.
Some weekends it’s all of them at once.

While most people are planning experiences weekend, we’re coordinating veterinary care, arranging fosters, transporting animals, providing food, answering calls& messages, and trying to make sure every animal gets the help they deserve.

We never want to say no when an animal needs help. But the reality is that medical care, surgery, medications, food, and supplies add up quickly.

Henry & Peanut were absolute rockstars at the vet today! ❤️🐾

These two precious little boys did amazing and received lots of love and attention from the incredible team at Springfield Animal Hospital 🥰

We are so grateful for a veterinary team that always goes above and beyond for the animals we bring through their doors. From routine care to some of our more challenging rescue cases, they are always there when animals need them most ❤️

Now these sweet boys are looking for the next step in their journey… a foster home! 🏡🐶

BOGO in rescue isle?
We got called into 1 dog rescue today Henry (white)- apx 3 years old.
Definitely has worms, not up to date on shots and some skin situation.
But then when the owner said he wanted to “get rid of the other one” can we really say no?
Peanut is apx 6 years old.
We sure earned some bonus double vet visit tomorrow 😅
Those sweet boys will see a vet tomorrow and be ready to foster soon.
We need fosters desperately. If interested please send us a message 🙏❤️

🐾 It’s been a busy few days at Able’s Legacy Rescue!

With the help of some amazing people, we were able to save Ford, an apx 1 year old shepherd mix, from behavioral euthanasia. A huge thank you to Springfield Animal Hospital for refusing to give up on him and reaching out for help.

Despite being labeled for behavioral euthanasia, Ford has been nothing but sweet with us. He’s great with dogs, cats, and kids. What he does have is pain, and we’ll be making sure he gets the veterinary care he needs so he can find the forever home he deserves. ❤️

Then it was off to help a kitten reportedly stuck in a drain… only for the little guy to pop out of another exit while trying to get him 😅

Dogs, cats, big or small, it doesn’t matter to us. When lives on the line, we come running.

It’s hard to put into words how grateful we feel right now. ❤️

Seeing so many people come together for these cats has been overwhelming in the best possible way. The donations, supplies, shares, kind messages, and willingness to help have reminded us just how much compassion exists in this community.
