NOF is once again heading to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on June 15-19 to continue its ESM program at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health. Doctors Eylem Ocal, Gregory Albert and Laura Hobart-Porter make up the team. ESM 2026 Mongolia is supported by the Dorrance-Tomlinson Education Fund.

Dr. Philipp Aldana, FAANS, FAAP, receives the "Humanitarian Award" at the American Association of Neurosurgical Surgeons Annual Meeting 2026. The award recognizes Dr. Aldana’s dedication to advancing neurosurgical care and improving access to treatment for underserved communities worldwide.

NOF was co-founded by Dr. Aldana in 2010. He shares, "All the volunteers and supporters of NOF are humanitarians, working tirelessly and giving generously to fulfill its mission of advancing neurosurgical care in underserved communities worldwide. This award belongs to them."

Since 1997, the AANS has conferred its "Humanitarian Award" to members who have given their time and talents to charitable or public service and whose actions have brought honor to the neurosurgical specialty.
