Her Song

Her Song Founded in 2013, Her Song interrupts the cycle of human trafficking and leads women to freedom.

Our mission is to engage survivors of s*x trafficking in building a new life by providing safe relationships, a healthy community of support, mental health care, life skills, and preparing them for work, education and to achieve new goals. We come alongside these strong, courageous women as they find the confidence and the courage to heal and begin a new life. We’re praising God for survivors who have recently experienced legal breakthroughs in their cases—significant milestones that play an important role in their healing journey toward freedom. These moments reflect not only progress, but the restoration and hope that come with being seen, heard, and supported.

As we celebrate these victories, we’re also preparing for what’s ahead. Please pray for the women moving into our new safe home in Columbus, as well as the many who will enter in the future. Pray that this home would be a place of peace, safety, and renewal, where each woman feels supported as she begins her journey toward healing.

We’re grateful to witness both the breakthroughs behind us and the new beginnings ahead.

We recently hosted a volunteer event in Jacksonville called “Letters of Hope,” where advocates wrote heartfelt notes of encouragement to women in our program, guided by the Her Song team.

At Her Song, we’re committed to holistic healing—creating spaces where women feel seen, valued, and supported. Simple acts of encouragement like this can carry deep impact, reminding each woman that she is not alone in her journey.

We’re so grateful for communities that show up with compassion and intentionality in this way. To learn how you can get involved with your local Her Song, visit hersong.org/getinvolved.

Did you know traffickers don’t always look the way we expect?

They aren’t just the stereotype of a “scary stranger.” Traffickers can be everyday people—men or women, individuals who blend into normal life and often hold positions of trust or authority.

Perpetrators of human trafficking span all racial, ethnic, and gender identities. They can be intimate partners, family members, business owners, members of a network, or individuals in positions of power.

Some exploit wealth, status, or influence to control others. Others may share similar socio-economic circumstances as those they exploit.

Trafficking is complex—and understanding the reality is a critical step in recognizing it and protecting vulnerable individuals.

“Grace steps in where it didn’t necessarily need to or have to, and it calls people into something greater than their past.” 🕊️

We’re so honored to recognize the accomplishments of the incredible women in our Jacksonville program at our 7th Annual Celebration of Milestones. Each story is a reflection of resilience, growth, and the power of grace.

Thank you, Demi-Leigh Tebow, for sharing such a powerful reminder that God’s grace meets us right where we are—and leads us forward.

🚫 Myth: Traffickers usually target strangers.
✅ Fact: According to the 2025 Trafficking in Persons Report released by the U.S. Department of State, over 90% of survivors reported being trafficked by someone they knew and trusted, which includes family, romantic partners, friends, and employers, rather than by a stranger.

Trafficking doesn’t always look like what we expect. It often hides in plain sight, within relationships that feel familiar.

That’s why awareness matters. When we understand the reality, we’re better equipped to recognize the signs, support survivors, and protect our communities.

Let’s challenge the myths. Let’s share the truth.

Our third safe home is now open in Columbus!

With this home, our residential program in Ohio is now fully established, allowing women to continue growing in independence, confidence, and stability as they prepare for what’s next.

Before opening, our staff prayed over every room, speaking peace and hope over all that is to come.

We’re grateful for what God is doing and the lives that will be impacted here. 🤍

At Her Song, Isaiah 61 is a scripture that deeply shapes how we serve and care for survivors.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor… to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” — Isaiah 61:1

This passage reflects a vision of restoration — brokenness met with compassion, captivity met with freedom, and despair transformed into hope. It mirrors the work carried out each day as our team walks alongside survivors of human trafficking on their journey toward healing and stability.

Through outreach, care coordination, and long-term residential care, we seek to live out this calling by helping bind up what has been broken and creating space for restoration to begin.

Isaiah 61 reminds us that freedom is not only deliverance from hardship, but restoration into dignity, purpose, and hope.

This month, we witnessed something beautiful.

Two women in our program declared their faith through baptism.

Healing is a journey.
Moments like this remind us that God is still making all things new.

“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” — Romans 6:4

To God be the glory. ✝️

What God asks of believers is simple—but not always easy. To do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our Lord is at the foundation of how we strive to care for the women we serve at Her Song.

Whether that looks like visiting a survivor while she is incarcerated, purchasing a plane ticket to help her reach a safe next step, or walking faithfully alongside her through healing in our long-term residential survivor program, we count it a privilege to serve.

We pray the Lord continues to equip and guide us in this calling as we walk with survivors on their journey toward healing and freedom. 🕊️
