🌟 Calling Future Leaders — RYLA Applications Are OPEN! 🌟

The Rotary Club of Burgaw is excited to offer local students an incredible opportunity to grow their leadership skills through RYLA — Rotary Youth Leadership Awards!

RYLA is more than a conference. It’s an intensive leadership experience designed to help young people discover their potential, strengthen their confidence, meet other student leaders, and learn from professionals and inspirational speakers.

Students will have opportunities to:
✨ Build communication and problem-solving skills
✨ Develop confidence as a leader
✨ Participate in team-building activities
✨ Strengthen public speaking and organizational skills
✨ Connect with other young leaders
✨ Learn how to turn ideas and motivation into ACTION
✨ Make friendships and memories along the way

📅 RYLA Conference: February 5–7, 2027
📍 Eastern 4-H Center — Columbia, NC

🚐 Transportation will be provided by the Burgaw Rotary Club
Applications are due December 15, 2026, but spaces are filled as applications are received — so don't wait until the deadline!

When applying, be sure to indicate that you are attending with the Burgaw Rotary Club.

We encourage parents, teachers, counselors, coaches, youth leaders, and community members to share this opportunity with a young person who has leadership potential. Sometimes all it takes is someone saying, “I think you would be great at this.”

Rotary believes in investing in the next generation of leaders — and we can't wait to see where these young leaders go! 💙💛

Rotary's current emphasis is on providing members with service opportunities, mentorship, meaningful engagement, and a value of membership.

The Rotary Foundation strengthens membership by strengthening the reason we belong. When members can see that their time, talents, and contributions are creating real change in the community and in the world, they become more engaged, more connected to Rotary, and more likely to stay. And when our community sees Rotary creating lasting impact, other people want to become part of it.

Our Thursday meeting welcomed a new member, a visit by a Kiwanis Club member, and CJ, who spoke to the group in more depth about the Rotary Foundation.

Thursday mornings with Rotary are some of the best mornings! 💙💛

This morning, the Rotary Club of Burgaw was honored to welcome our Rotary District Governor and Assistant District Governor, along with one of our favorites, CJ!

Our Thursday morning meetings are always a great way to start the day—with fellowship, conversation, and a renewed focus on what Rotary is all about: Service Above Self.

Each week gives us an opportunity to reconnect, share ideas, and think about how we can continue making a difference right here in our community and beyond.

Grateful for our fellow Rotarians, our district leadership, and everyone who continues to live out the mission of Rotary through service. Together, we can Create Lasting Impact! 💙💛

Did you know?

The Rotary Cottage is part of a remarkable chapter in North Carolina Rotary history.

In the mid-1960s, all six Rotary districts in North Carolina came together to build a cottage at Boys & Girls Homes. It was completed and dedicated in 1966.

For nearly 60 years, that commitment has represented something bigger than a building.

It represents Rotary saying:

“These children matter to us.”

Today, we have the opportunity to say it again.

Help us renew the Rotary Cottage for the next generation.

$225,000 by October 1.
