Fall Family Dance Update

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this weekend’s Family Dance due to lower-than-anticipated enrollment.

We appreciate everyone who showed interest in the event and the support of our community. While we’re disappointed that we won’t be gathering this weekend, we look forward to continuing to create opportunities for families to connect, have fun, and make memories together.

*If you have already purchased tickets to this event, a member of our staff will contact you this week to issue a refund*

Thank you for your understanding and continued support!

🚨 BREAKING NEWS FROM THE YMCA! 🚀😂

So apparently Tesla has figured out how to make cars fly… and naturally, We started thinking, why shouldn't the YMCA have a flying food truck?! 🤔

Introducing the newest upgrade to our Y on the Go program! 🚚💨

✅ Traffic jams? Not our problem anymore!

✅ Hard-to-reach communities? We'll just fly over!

✅ Food deliveries? Coming in HOT! 🔥

✅ Fuel costs? Well… let's not talk about that yet. 😂

Our mission has always been to reach new heights, but we may have taken that a little too literally!

All jokes aside, the sky really is the limit for what we can accomplish together!

Now, we just need to figure out how to get this approved in the 2027 budget! 🤣

Same Mission. Greater Reach. One Y. 💙

🚧CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Big Progress at the New River YMCA! 🚧

Our full-service YMCA continues to take shape, and we’re excited to share this week’s progress!

From the exterior of the building to the work happening inside, every step brings us closer to creating a space that will serve families across Onslow County for generations to come.

Here’s what’s happening on-site:
-Exterior work continues as the building takes shape.
-Interior block walls and framing are progressing, helping define the future spaces inside.
-Our indoor aquatic areas are taking shape as construction continues throughout the facility.

This project is about so much more than a building. It’s about creating opportunities for families to swim, grow stronger, connect with one another, and build a healthier community together.

We are incredibly grateful to our construction partners, donors, community supporters, and everyone who believes in the future of the New River YMCA. Your support is helping bring this vision to life!

💙 One community. One mission. A stronger future.

💙 OUR YMCA FOOD PROGRAM IS GROWING! 💙

📣 We heard you, Onslow County! And we’re growing to meet the need!

The New River YMCA’s youth-focused food program is expanding, and we’re excited to announce that WEEKLY food distributions are coming soon!

Our mission is simple: help nourish children, strengthen families, and ensure more members of our community have access to the food they need.

Here’s a look at the impact YOU helped make last month:

-180 families served
-945 individuals reached
-579 youth supported
-67 military-affiliated individuals served
-3,425 meals served through CACFP across 8 sites
-3,186 snacks provided across 4 non-CACFP sites

Every meal matters. Every family matters. And every partnership helps us reach more children who need us.

With the addition of our expanding food distribution efforts, we’re working to bring resources closer to the families and communities that need them most throughout Onslow County.

Want to know when and where our weekly distributions will take place? Follow the New River YMCA on Facebook and turn on notifications so you don’t miss the details!

Want to help us grow? We’re looking for community partners, food donors, volunteers, and supporters who believe every child deserves access to nutritious food.

Together, we can make a difference! One family, one child, and one meal at a time.

🌟Today we are shining the spotlight on, Callie! 🌟

She is one of the amazing members of our New River YMCA Preschool Academy team! ❤️

A few of Callie’s favorite things:
☕ Coffee (a must-have!)
🍕 Pizza
🎶 Anything Taylor Swift or Megan Moroney!

💕 What does Callie love most about her job?

“Seeing our little friends each and every morning and getting to be a part of their lives at such an impressionable age!” ❤️

At the New River YMCA, we know that the little moments make a BIG difference! We’re so thankful for Callie and the love, care, and encouragement she brings to our preschool friends each day. 🍎✨

Help us show Callie some love in the comments! 👇🏼❤️
