EcoClean Guardians is a woman‑owned environmental nonprofit that trains and pays residents to perform high-impact litter abatement and waterway-focused cleanup work. Founded in 2023, the organization restores river corridors, storm-drain systems, highways, and other critical public spaces where trash accumulates before reaching local waterways. By pairing workforce development with hands‑on environmental restoration, EcoClean Guardians turns cleanup into steady income, measurable impact, and a community‑powered path to healthier shared environments.

The Potomac River Clinic (PRC) has served individuals with hearing loss in the Washington, DC region for over 25 years. In 2023, PRC launched the Community Outreach Fund to provide free diagnostic Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing for infants. This initiative reflected the PRC’s broader mission to ensure equitable access to care, particularly for underserved families facing barriers such as cost, transportation, and language. Through its sustained commitment to both direct services and system-level solutions, PRC continues to model how a small, community-based organization can drive meaningful change in public health and improve the lives of children with hearing loss.

Courage in community protection and resilience.

The Local Environmental Action Demanded (LEAD) Agency has confronted decades of mining pollution in Oklahoma since 1997, educating children about lead exposure, mapping resilience in contaminated landscapes, building flood-protective infrastructure, and holding federal agencies accountable when they failed to act. Through decades of commitment, LEAD has transformed environmental advocacy into tangible community protection and long-term resilience, demonstrating how grassroots courage can reclaim the land, safeguard public health, and empower marginalized communities to envision a safer, sustainable future.
