Hunger strikers at the Folkston ICE Processing Center have now been on strike since last Tuesday, October 6th. At least 30 people are now facing two months in solitary confinement in retaliation. We MUST continue to amplify the demands of the strikers and demand their immediate release!

We’ve heard time and time again about the deplorable conditions at Folkston ICE Processing Center. Detainees have managed to show video of dead animals rotting for months in their cells. Medical neglect, insufficient and unsafe food, and unsanitary conditions are the norm at this GEO Group’s hyper-profitable torture machine.

Now, at least 500 detainees are hunger striking to demand better conditions, and YOU can support them by joining JIRA’s caravan from Jacksonville to Folkston! The strikers demand an end to abusive treatment, the right to due process, and immediate release. We support these demands and further call for a TOTAL SHUTDOWN of Folkston ICE Processing Center!

Una y otra vez sale información sobre las condiciones vergonzosas del Centro de Procesamiento de ICE en Folkston. Los detenidos lograron mostrar video de animales mu***os pudriéndose durante meses en sus celdas. La negligencia médica, comida malsana e insuficiente y condiciones insalubres son la norma para esta máquina de tortura, una máquina híper lucrativa para la compañía GEO Group que la maneja.

Ahora, un mínimo de 500 inmigrantes detenidos están en huelga de hambre para demandar mejores condiciones, y TÚ los puedes apoyar en unirte a la caravana de JIRA desde Jacksonville a Folkston. Los huelgistas exigen un fin al trato abusivo, el derecho al debido proceso y la liberación inmediata. Apoyamos estas exigencias y además demandamos el cierre total del Centro de Folkston!

It’s time to get serious about fighting back against ICE in Jacksonville. From JSO officers acting as ICE in our streets to inhumane concentration camps within hours of us, it is our duty to SHUT IT DOWN. We need people like YOU to help do this.

Ya’akub Ira, a photojournalist and DACA recipient from Dallas, Texas, was targeted and detained by ICE in October 2025. He has been in detention for one year now for exercising his free speech, posting on social media in support of Palestine.

Now, he is held in Folkston ICE Processing Center, a fifteen hour drive from his home, community, and loved ones. While Ya’akub has been granted a habeas trial, the fight does not end here! We want Ya’akub free NOW! ONE YEAR OF ILLEGAL DETENTION IS UNACCEPTABLE!

Despite concern from residents of Jacksonville, City Council approved the budget with no revision to the whopping $1.07 Billion allocated to Jacksonville Sherrif’s Office! This amount makes up over HALF of the entire budget. We must ask, how will JSO use these funds? To continue over policing and violence in Black neighborhoods? To continue acting as ICE agents in our streets under their 287g agreement, possibly with new weapons?

We say NO to this! We want a People’s Budget now, no more funding for bloated police budgets, and an END to JSO’s 287g agreement with ICE.

A pesar de la preocupación de los vecinos de Jacksonville, el Consejo Municipal ha aprobado el presupuesto sin modificar la astronómica cifra de 1.07 mil millones de dólares asignada a la Oficina del Sheriff de Jacksonville (JSO). Esta cantidad supone más de la MITAD del presupuesto total. Debemos preguntarnos: ¿cómo utilizará la JSO estos fondos? ¿Para seguir con la represión policial excesiva y la violencia en los barrios con población negra? ¿Para seguir actuando como agentes de ICE en nuestras calles, al amparo de su acuerdo 287g?

¡Decimos NO a esto! Queremos un presupuesto para el pueblo ya, que se deje de financiar los presupuestos policiales inflados y que se ponga FIN al acuerdo 287g de la JSO con ICE.

FREE OUR PEOPLE! FREE THEM ALL!

📣 Last Saturday, community members from JIRA and Tallahassee Immigrant Rights Alliance joined forces at Olustee Battlefield State Park and marched to Baker Cruelty Camp where they stood in the hard pouring rain to make their stance clear as part of the Legalization For All weekend of action against the mid-term Republican National Convention in Texas

✊🏾 They heard detainees cheer as they protested against their oppressors, inspiring some hope in those who want nothing but freedom.

📣 El sábado pasado, miembros de la comunidad de JIRA y Tallahassee Immigrant Rights Alliance unieron fuerzas en Oluste Battlefield State Park y marcharon al Campamento de Crueldad Baker donde permanecieron de pie bajo una lluvia torrencial para dejar clara su postura, como parte del fin de semana de acción de Legalization For All contra la Convención Nacional Republicana de mitad de legislatura celebrada en Texas

✊🏾 Escucharon a los detenidos animar mientras protestaban contra sus opresores, inspirando algo de esperanza en quienes solo quieren libertad.
