A featured star of Pour Your Heart Out is Heart Warrior Legend! Legend is aptly named. He is a joy to be around, jumping into each opportunity with gusto and pizzazz, sometimes quite literally!
His mother Fatima has this to share about his journey so far:
"My son’s journey has been a long one, and he has shown so much strength throughout everything he has faced. He was born prematurely and diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot and pulmonary stenosis, along with other medical conditions. On December 20, 2019, he underwent heart surgery to repair his Tetralogy of Fallot and also had a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ligation. Watching my baby go through heart surgery at such a young age was one of the hardest and scariest experiences of my life. He was also born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. On July 13, 2021, he had surgery for his cleft lip and palate. He also had a gastrostomy tube placed to help with feeding and nutrition, and later had surgery to close the gastrocutaneous fistula after the tube was no longer needed. Along with his medical journey, he has faced developmental challenges, including autism and speech and language difficulties. These challenges have affected his everyday life, especially with communication, learning, and expressing his wants and needs. Throughout his life, we have had many doctor appointments, procedures, therapies, and moments of uncertainty. In the beginning, I was heartbroken, overwhelmed, and scared about what his future would look like. As he has gotten older, I have learned so much more about his conditions, his needs, and how to advocate for him. Despite everything my son has been through, he continues to grow, learn, and overcome obstacles. Every milestone means so much to me because I know how hard he has worked to get where he is today. His journey has taught me patience, strength, and to never take the little things for granted. I will continue to stand beside him, support him, advocate for him, and celebrate every accomplishment along the way."
