Providing guidance, resources, and therapeutic services to our an all-inclusive community for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies. Why we are here…We are here to help the recovering Le***an, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community and their allies. FREEDOM TO BE ME will not take sides. We do not care if you go to AA, CMA or NA, if you are Atheist, or a Christian, if you use a therapist or a
medicine woman. Maybe one day you just decided to quit or just sought out help. It’s not a matter for us to debate over the “right way to recover,” because that can take attention away from the real reason we are in recovery. That reason is to help the LGBT person who is still struggling. We are going to be very careful not to promote one recovery program or the other. The idea here is that we can have a LGBT recovery community online. We want to make recovery cool and exciting. We want the world to see that being clean and sober does not mean that we are boring. We want to show the world that addicts and alcoholics are not train wrecks or recreational hazards. We want to bring the LGBT community together, and bring recovery into the forefront of the LGBT society. We can be clean, sober and proud! More importantly, we want to help people. We want to help people find recovery. We want to help family members find support, and help them understand what alcoholism and addiction is and why their loved one is behaving the way they are. We want to help alcoholics and addicts feel more comfortable and proud about themselves. Being an alcoholic or addict does not make us bad people, and we want the world to understand that. So, here is what FREEDOM TO BE ME does NOT want to be. We DO NOT want to be a debating society. We DO NOT want to get involved with arguments about your recovery. We DO NOT want to be the judge and jury for recovery.
