Jacksonville Science Festival Presented by Florida State College at Jacksonville & The Foundation Academy

The Inaugural Jacksonville Science Festival was held April 25 and 26, 2013 on 23 acres at 3675 San Pablo Road South, and on April 27 at FSCJ's South Campus. The festival will focus on Northeast Florida strengths, expertise, and creativity, hence we are looking to you. Our inspiration is based partly on the idea of science festivals, differentiated from science fairs, as described in Karen Weintraub’s New York Times Sciencearticle, “A Celebration of Science With a Popular Touch” (April 9, 2012).Please also investigate further by viewing other events in other cities around the country by checking out the website www.sciencefestivals.org. You will be contributing in a significant way to improve Jacksonville’s graduation rates in Science/Technology/Engineering/Arts and Math (STEAM) and supporting our city as a great place to live and work. We are asking you to please come to our info mtg with your list of questions and see what it is really all about. We look forward to seeing you there!!

🌿🧤 Camp is just the beginning! Our Counselors in Training are learning that leadership goes far beyond the camp day. On this trip to Castaway Preserve, our CITs rolled up their sleeves for a nature trail cleanup, giving back to the community while gaining valuable experience.

From assisting counselors and participating in life skills classes to completing meaningful service projects, our CIT program is designed to grow leaders, build confidence, and inspire a heart for service.

Because being a CIT isn’t just about attending camp… it’s about making a difference. 💚🌎
