We’re here to serve “Our Kids”
Our Mission is “to inspire and, through character development, enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”
Brigade Boys & Girls Club, a nonprofit youth development organization and affiliate of the national Boys & Girls Club of America, serves 2,200 youth and teens between the ages of 5 and 18 across New Hanover, Pender, and Onslow counties. Our goal in both our after-school and our summer camp programs is to be there to provide a safe haven during those out-of-school hours. This is accomplished by focusing on outcomes in three priority areas, academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship.
We offer youth and teens the opportunity to explore and learn. Leaning is more than just reading, writing and problem solving. It’s exploring, experimenting and expanding upon the lessons learned during the school day that helps our Club members succeed in the real world. We don’t just help kids get good grades; we help inspire and empower them to build a better future for themselves. Educationally-enriching activities in every area of the Club – from the art room, to the gym, to the tech lab – are built on deliberate skill-building programming to complement Club members’ traditional academic instruction and spark young people’s passions.
So, why "Our Kids?" Because we as a community have the responsibility to raise up the next generation. By investing in the youth and teens of today, we equip them to make the best of their tomorrows. We at Brigade believe in Our Kids. We believe in their pasts, their presents, and, most of all, their futures. We believe that Great Futures start HERE, and they start with Our Kids and YOU.
