Here are some pictures from a recent mission trip to the Dominican Republic where Alejandra delivered dresses to young girls. It's a blessing to see such smiles when these girls living in poverty receive our dresses along with other items to enrich their lives. Thanks Ale for all you do in DAG and for delivering these dresses.

Another great day at the drop off. Even a traffic back up due to an accident and promise of rain didn’t keep our sewers away today. We took in 172 dresses, 7 skirts, and 26 shorts as well as 26 hygiene kits cut, 32 complete hygiene kits, and some dolls, and an assortment of draw string bags for A Grain of Joy. These numbers included a couple of significant contributors – Pam with 43 dresses, Ruth with 25 shorts, and the 32 completed hygiene kits also from Ruth, and many thanks to Mary for 44 pairs of panties!! Our volunteers were on the job again making everything run smoothly so a big thanks to them as usual. Thanks to everyone for making today great. We look forward to next month!

What a great drop off we had today!! Lots of sewers dropping off dresses, some new members joining in for the first time, and a visit from an old friend! We took in 116 dresses, 6 skirts, 25 shorts, 20 shields for hygiene kits, and 45 hygiene kits. Additionally, there were 29 Christmas drawstring bags, flat dolls, school supplies, and toiletries for A Grain of Joy. Marcela called from Columbia to thank everyone for all the donations for A Grain of Joy and is looking forward to sharing her missionary experience and new home with some of us in the future. Sheila popped in whom we haven’t seen in a coon’s age (those little masked bandits must really live a long time to generate this old saying). Sadly, I didn’t get much of a chance to talk with her but it was good just to see her to say hello. A big thanks from Trinity Rescue Mission to those who brought 4 bags of towels. This wonderful ministry serves hundreds of homeless men, women, and children daily in our community so you can imagine this need is a big one. Our great volunteers were on hand again to direct people, answer questions, and roll dresses for storage. And, I can’t go without saying a huge thanks to Bartram Trail Branch Library leadership and staff for pivoting to provide meeting space although they are dealing with some space allocations they can’t control. They always look out for us and we can’t thank you enough for working so hard to ensure our meeting could go on without a hitch. I look forward to seeing you all again next month!

After missing the last two months, it was a joy to be back at this month’s drop off yesterday. We had a great day and took in 169 dresses along with 7 skirts, 26 shorts, and 65 shields for hygiene kits. We also got in headbands, dolls, and our sewers turned in 36 draw-string bags for the A Grain of Joy Christmas bag project. Special recognition to Pam for her 43 dresses and Coleen for her 26. We also had a couple of new members joining us – Jan, Laura, and Peggy as well as getting new contact Nancy for Christmas shoeboxes for the fall. As always, thanks to our volunteers that help make the drop offs run smoother – Patty, Susanna, Rosemary, Brenda, Sharon, and Brenda (sorry if I missed listing you if you also were helping out). It’s always a great time for catching up and checking in with our members and after being gone a couple of months, it was a special treat for me. Thanks for all you do and I look forward to seeing you all again next month! (Sorry I didn't get pictures. I guess I'm out of practice, LOL.)

Hey sewers and supporters, I’m back from my European vacation and ready to be back to work on DAG! It sounds like I missed a great drop off last Saturday. We received 206 dresses. Special thanks to Pam who turned in 43 and Diane who turned in 32. WOW!! Special thanks also to Ruth who turned in 25 shorts and 20 hygiene kits. Pam also turned in 74 pencil pouches and Nancy had 29 Christmas bags. You guys have been really busy! Rosemary also brought in hair ties and toiletries. A big thanks to Sharon for cutting 58 kits in my absence to make sure there was plenty to give out. A warm and special thanks to David Richards for donating 92 bolts of fabric. What a great legacy in memory for his wife and our friend and fellow sewer, Dorthy. Finally, many thanks to all who made sure everything ran smoothly, especially my little sister, Patty, who filled in for me with kits and supplies. I really missed you guys and am looking forward to another great event next month!

We were contacted by Mishell recently to take dresses to the Dominican Republic next month. She has ties there and travels back once or twice a year to provide for the children in poor villages. Here are some pictures she sent from the last trip. Thanks to Mishell and those like her who help us fulfill our mission to reach vulnerable children around the world with our clothing items and message of God's love for them.

When I drop the ball, it’s good to know that our members got my back! You can look back at the post for our April 26th drop off which was a great success but I failed to get the pictures up from that event. Thanks to Veronica who sent the gentle reminder that she had taken these and sent them but I totally dropped the ball for including them. So here they are now, pictures of our lovely, dedicated, talented members who attended, dropped off dresses, helped others find what they needed, and packed the dresses for storage. Melanie and I are truly blessed to have such great women working beside us in this ministry that helps so many children know they are loved and valued.

Melanie and I were not able to be at the drop off yesterday but hear it went well and a lot was going on. We were joined by 2 new members, Debbie and Melody. We got in 187 dresses plus 46 pencil pouches from Nancy, MaryAnn, and Mindy, and hair ties from Rosemary and Nancy. Rosemary also brought in some toiletries and new member Melody brought in 4 packs of panties, and Jan brought in her beautiful embroidered butterfly embellishments. We got in 50 pairs of shorts with 36 of those from Ruth who is now up to 850 made since she started working on that project. We got in $40 in cash which, of course, will go towards panties to go with your beautiful dresses. A very special guest stopped by, Kimberly Taylor, who was part of our first mission trip to Ecuador in 2024. She’s been back to Ecuador since and is now on her way to Malawi in Africa and will be taking our dresses with her. Melanie and I are sorry we could not be there but we were attending the memorial service for one of our members whom we lost to cancer recently. We are grateful that we have so many dedicated volunteers who stepped in to allow us to attend this service and express our condolences to her family.

It was a great day for dresses yesterday! Our drop off had a lower than usual buzz but a steady crown dropping off. We took in 166 dresses, 10 skirts, 46 shields, and 31 hygiene kits. Additionally, there were scrunchies and hair ties, yo-yo’s, school supplies, baby hats, and 83 pencil pouches! This group never disappoints! A special thanks to Sheila and Melanie for making up for my not being about to cut kits this month. And as always, thanks to our many volunteers who keep things running smoothly during the drop off. My head is still spinning from the big move to the little house so I REALLY needed your back up yesterday. Love to you all and God bless. Look forward to seeing you all again next month!
