Today, on World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that mental health matters for everyone, including the individuals we are honored to serve at Angelwood. 💚

Not every feeling can be expressed through words. Sometimes care begins with slowing down, paying attention, and listening in all the ways a person communicates.

At Angelwood, we want every individual to know that their feelings matter, their voice matters, and they never have to face life’s challenges alone.

We loved welcoming The Mandala School to Angelwood for a special morning filled with meaningful connections and plenty of smiles.

One of our incredible individuals made the visit even more memorable by creating handmade welcome cards for our guests. Her thoughtful gesture is a beautiful reminder that at Angelwood, our individuals do more than participate in their community. They help shape it, welcome others into it, and make it brighter.

Moments like these are what community is all about. Bringing people together, building meaningful relationships, and creating a place where everyone belongs.

ANNOUNCEMENT: ERIN SCOTT JOINS ANGELWOOD’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

We are excited to welcome Erin Scott to Angelwood’s Board of Directors!

Erin brings extensive experience in banking, business development, relationship management, and community leadership. She currently serves as Vice President and Senior Business Banker at First Horizon Bank, where she works closely with businesses throughout the Jacksonville community to understand their needs and support their growth.

Her commitment to giving back is equally strong. Erin has served in leadership and volunteer roles with organizations throughout Northeast Florida, bringing together her professional expertise and passion for making a meaningful difference in her community.

“Erin brings an incredible combination of financial expertise, community leadership, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities. She immediately began thinking about ways she could contribute to Angelwood, from strengthening community relationships to supporting our development efforts and identifying new opportunities for growth. I’m incredibly excited to welcome Erin to our Board of Directors and to see the impact she will make," said Heather Stamper, Chief Executive Officer, Angelwood.

A University of North Florida graduate who also completed the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University, Erin has built her career and community involvement around creating strong relationships and helping organizations thrive.

ANNOUNCEMENT: AMY PALMER JOINS ANGELWOOD’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

We are excited to welcome Amy Palmer to Angelwood’s Board of Directors!

Amy is a local real estate professional with Keller Williams Atlantic Partners, but her connection to Angelwood began before joining our Board. Amy played an important role in helping Angelwood find the property that will become our sixth group home, helping to make an important expansion of our residential services possible.

Her commitment continued through her support of Angelwood’s Annual Celebration, further demonstrating her dedication to our mission.

“Amy’s success in real estate reflects her ability to listen, understand her clients’ goals, and find the right fit. She brought that same care to Angelwood, helping us find the ideal property for our sixth group home. Her knowledge of the housing market and commitment to our mission will be valuable as we work to serve more individuals and families. We are excited to welcome Denise Vigliotti Smith to Angelwood’s Board of Directors!

Denise’s connection to Angelwood began long before joining the Board. For many years, she has served on Angelwood’s HR Committee, providing valuable guidance on recruitment, retention, employee engagement, workplace policies, and workforce needs.

With more than 30 years of talent acquisition and recruiting leadership experience, Denise brings extensive professional expertise along with a meaningful understanding of Angelwood’s people, culture, and mission.

“Denise is a wonderful addition to the Angelwood Board of Directors. She brings an energy and a passion to all of her endeavors and is a proud advocate of Jacksonville. She has been a longtime contributor to Angelwood as a volunteer and through her service on our HR Committee. I am proud that she will be joining us,” said David Emanuel, Angelwood Board Member.
