On Monday afternoon, our bingo game looked like any other — cards spread across the tables, stickers in hand, eyes scanning for the next number to be called.

But if you watched closely, you saw something quietly extraordinary happening between two of our individuals.

After every single number, Michelle (left) leaned over to Amanda (right). She didn't wait to be asked. She didn't make a big deal of it. She just gently pointed to her card, helping Amanda spot the number she was looking for. And then the next number was called, and Michelle did it again. And again. For the entire game.

No one told Michelle to do this. There was no prize for helping. There was just a friend beside her who needed a little support, and Michelle showed up, quietly, patiently, over and over to make sure Amanda could play right alongside her.

This is what community looks like. This is what friendship looks like. Two people, side by side, making sure no one gets left behind.

This is love. This is Angelwood. 💙

Corporate Partner Spotlight: Altar'd State ✨

At Angelwood, we believe extraordinary things happen when mission-driven businesses and nonprofits come together to create meaningful change. That is why we are especially honored to partner with Altar'd State.

Altar'd State has built a reputation for being far more than a retail brand. Known for its fashion, accessories, home décor, gifts, and uplifting shopping experience, the company has also distinguished itself through its commitment to generosity, community engagement, and charitable giving. Giving back is woven into the fabric of who they are, making them a natural partner for organizations that are transforming lives.

We are incredibly grateful that Altar'd State Jacksonville, has selected Angelwood as its Mission Monday partner for May, June, July, and August. Through this initiative, customers who shop on Mondays at the St. John's Town Center location can choose to round up their purchases at checkout, with those donations benefiting Angelwood.

The funds raised will help support Angelwood's programs and services for children, adults, seniors, and families living with intellectual and developmental differences. From residential services and respite care to employment support and community integration opportunities, every dollar helps empower the individuals we serve to live fuller, more independent lives.

A special thank you goes out to Peter Drift and his awesome volunteer team from Church of Eleven22, who recently spent their time serving at the Angelwood Thrift Store. Your willingness to roll up your sleeves and help makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families we support every day.

Did you know that every purchase made at the Angelwood Thrift Store helps support Angelwood's mission of serving children, adults, seniors, and families living with intellectual and developmental differences? Located at 5711 Bowden Road, Suite 9, Jacksonville, FL 32216, our thrift store is more than just a place to find great treasures—it is a vital source of funding that helps provide life-changing programs and services for those we serve.

Angelwood and Publix- a partnership rooted in love ❤️

We are so proud and grateful to be a recipient of the incredible generosity of Publix — an organization whose relationship with Angelwood goes back a long way. Their commitment to giving back is felt in communities every single day, and we are deeply honored to be part of that story.

Each and every week, our Publix family blesses us with donations from their bakery — the most wonderful breads, pastries, cakes, and baked goods you can imagine. And our individuals? They absolutely love it. These small moments of sweetness mean so much more than words can say.

We have our remarkable Office Manager, Annette Patino, to thank for making these weekly bakery donations a reality. Her initiative and heart for our residents made it happen. And alongside her, our irreplaceable William Castro, our amazing Facilities "Ambassador" — whose dedication to the people we serve is second to none. We truly don't know what we would do without him.

Every week, Annette and William make the trip to pick up these donations and make sure each and every item finds its way to our residents, with care, with warmth, and with love.

This is love. This is Angelwood. 💚
