Safeguarding Youth Training
Some are having an issue advancing to the next screen in the Safeguarding Youth Training. The issue appears to occur when training videos are viewed in full-screen mode on some computers. In full-screen mode, the Forward button may not be visible when it is time to advance. To resolve the issue, exit full-screen mode on the video by pressing the ESC key.
Alternatively, move the cursor to the bottom of the video screen, hover over the full-screen icon in the lower-right corner, and click it to exit full-screen mode. Once the video is no longer in full-screen mode, the Forward button should be visible, allowing the training to continue.
The course can be completed using either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
Following these steps should allow the training to progress ormally. Thank you for helping keep our youth safe.

Show Off That Eagle Scout Pride

Do you remember the feeling of earning your Eagle Scout rank? For many of us, it was one of those moments of pride that sticks with you. It is a moment of pride and a prized possession for so many of us. Your Eagle Scout rank is more than just an award, it is a lifelong symbol of leadership, service, character, and perseverance. Now, you can proudly display that achievement where employers, colleagues, and professional connections will see it.

Introducing the Official Eagle Scout Digital Badge

The National Eagle Scout Association is excited to offer the official Eagle Scout Digital Badge, making it easier than ever to showcase your accomplishment on your LinkedIn profile and other social media platforms.

Why add your Eagle Scout badge?
Stand Out Professionally – Highlight an achievement that demonstrates leadership, service, and commitment.
Build Your Personal Brand – Showcase a credential that employers and recruiters recognize and respect.
Share Your Story – Celebrate your Eagle Scout journey with your professional network.
Strengthen Your Profile – Add a verified credential that reflects your lifelong values and accomplishments.
Whether you're applying for your first job, advancing your career, or expanding your professional network, your Eagle Scout badge helps tell your story before you say a word.

As a benefit of your NESA membership, the Eagle Scout Digital Badge is FREE!

Not sure why the link is showing “Forbidden” because, well… it isn’t. Apparently, the internet has decided toplay games.

If the link still refuses to cooperate, try this one instead. Just remove the space between “resources” and the “/”—because apparently even URLs sometimes need a little Scout-level troubleshooting.

Most Families Find a Unit with BeAScout.org

The new BeAScout experience provides families with key details like meeting times, estimated costs, and unit dues before they make contact. To support these enhancements, new fields have been added to the Unit Pin page in Organization Manager, so even recently updated pins may need additional information. A step-by-step guide is here: https://www.scouting.org/pin/

New Member Coordinator
Did you know that contacting a family within 48 hour of joining is one of the single most effective ways to secure long-term retention? Don't let their initial excitement fade into radio silence. Assign a dedicated New Member Coordinator to send a quick text or email welcoming them right away. Learn about that volunteer position here: https://onscouting.org/2019/09/25/new-member-coordinator/

Do Your New Cub Families Know When and Where to Meet?
Among the most important information new Cub Scout families need is knowing when their den meets and who they can contact when questions arise. Seems obvious, but we have lost families before they even attended a meeting. Be sure every family who joins a pack receives a copy of this form (https://onscouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/You-Are-Not-Alone.pdf), or a similar resource, so they feel welcomed, informed, and connected from the very beginning.

Member ID Merger
Soon those members who have multiple Member IDs will be able to merge them in their My.Scouting accounts. This merger will connect any data under those Member IDs into one record and will give members who complete the merger one Scouting America Member ID. Encourage Scouters to watch their My.Scouting account for more information and for this feature to be released. It is expected in the next couple of weeks.

In the Scouting spirit of friendliness, we kindly recommend that every Scout unit identify at least one volunteer to serve as New Member Coordinator.
