Please check out what Great Things In Jacksonville is doing within the city. One of their current projects is a clean-up project of the historic signs. They were able to locate two which had damage and are getting these back in shape to be rest. 13 signs in all will receive attention in some way.

The Jacksonville Historical Society will be holding our monthly meeting at 6:00PM, next Thursday, July 25th, at the Jacksonville Community Center, Room 1 (The Pelham Room).... We will be discussing the current state of preservation in Jacksonville, and ongoing and new projects around town. We hope to see you all there!

Hello Everyone!

We will be having our first meeting of the year this Thursday, January 17th, at the Jacksonville Train Depot. Please make sure to attend, as we will discuss our plans for the new year, as well as ongoing preservation issues in Jacksonville. The meeting
will start at 6:00, so please make every effort to attend! Also, please make sure to visit the restoration page for the Doctor Francis Museum, which is coming along well!

Our next work day at the Doctor Francis Museum will be this Saturday, January the 12th from 8:00 AM until Noon...

We will be doing some work around the building including prime painting, cleaning of the interior and setting fixtures back into place, and other various tasks that will need to be done!

Please make sure to bring your work gloves, eye protection, and miscellaneous tools! We hope to see you all there!!

THIS THURSDAY 11/15 TOUR of German Italian Memorial Cemetery hosted by Anniston Historic Preservation Commission . Enter McClellan at Shipley Road north of WalMart on Hwy 21. Cemetery is at top of hill on left. Tour begins at 11:30 and ends around 1:00pm. Bring a bag lunch.
