Building a program is not easy, and it’s definitely not for the weak. I do my best to lead with integrity, always putting God first and keeping our kids at the center of everything we do. What makes me most proud is seeing the growth in our players this season. Last year, we had one team make the playoffs. This year, we had four teams competing and making noise. Our 6U fought hard and fell 10–9, our 12U came up short 8–7, and our 10U battled to the end tonight and came up short 7–6. That growth means something. 8u is still holding us down and will be back in action Saturday.
After almost 20 years of coaching, I’ve learned that no matter what decisions you make, someone will disagree. But I’ll continue leading with integrity and remembering that at the end of the day, these are kids. I will always be a kid first coach. They’re going to have fun, learn the game, be respectful, and compete the right way. Wins and losses are part of baseball, but tonight, even coming up short, I’m forever proud of my MIE Tigers.
