This week, we’re sharing a few words directly from participants who have experienced our programs and services firsthand.

Their stories, encouragement, and feedback remind us why this work matters, and why creating stronger families and stronger communities starts with listening, supporting, and showing up for one another.

On Friday, August 28, Inspire to Rise, Florida Department of Health – Duval County, and Overdose Data to Action – Duval County will come together for a day of outreach, remembrance, and connection.

Beginning at 2 PM, community members can join us as we distribute Overdose Awareness Kits throughout Nassau, Duval, and Clay Counties—sharing Narcan, information, and resources with our neighbors.

Then, from 6–7:30 PM, we will gather at the Inspire to Rise Sanctuary for a Vigil Ceremony. This gathering is open to all community members, with no RSVP required.

Together, we can honor those we have lost, support those who are still with us, and remind one another that no family or community has to face the impact of overdose alone.

📅 Friday, August 28, 2026
🕑 Outreach begins at 2 PM
🕯️ Vigil: 6–7:30 PM

Stay Cool, Stay Hydrated 💧☀️

Jacksonville, we’re experiencing extreme heat, and it’s important that we look out for ourselves, our families, and our neighbors.

As temperatures rise, remember to:
💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day
🌳 Take breaks in a cool, shaded, or air-conditioned space
👕 Wear lightweight, comfortable clothing
☀️ Limit time outdoors during the hottest parts of the day
🤝 Check in on children, older adults, and neighbors who may need a little extra support staying cool

Staying safe in the heat is something we can all do together. Take care, stay cool, and look out for one another.💙

🎉 Congratulations to our newest Nurturing Parenting Program Facilitators! 🎉

Please join us in celebrating Christina Ratliff, Yirley Castillo, Michelle Williams, Kya Robinson, Meily Ramos, and Cevel Jones on completing their Nurturing Parenting Program Facilitator training! 👏💙

These incredible women are part of the Inspire to Rise Community Education Team, where they work alongside families in the dependency system to provide supervised visitation, parenting education, and parent coaching.

Their work goes far beyond a program or a checklist. They help parents strengthen their protective capacities, build confidence in their parenting, develop meaningful connections with their children, and work toward their reunification goals. Most importantly, they meet families where they are and help create pathways toward stronger, healthier families. 💙

We are so proud of this team and the continued investment they are making in the families and communities we serve!

Congratulations, ladies! Your work matters. Your support makes a difference. And together, we’re building stronger families and stronger communities. 💪

The first day of school is here! 📚✨

A new school year means new beginnings, new friendships, new opportunities, and so many possibilities for our young people. 💛

At Inspire to Rise, we believe every young person deserves an environment where they feel supported, connected, and empowered to succeed. Sometimes, that environment looks a little different from a traditional classroom - and that’s okay!

🌟 Looking for an alternative school option for your child?
Our INSPIRED Youth Day Program provides a supportive, engaging environment for youth ages 10–15, with:

🧠 Group & individual therapy
📚 Online learning with FLVS + teacher support
🤝 Family engagement & support services
🎨 Enrichment through art, dance, yoga, music & more
🌱 Prevention-based education
💛 A community focused on connection, growth, and possibility

Whether today is the first day of an exciting new chapter or a reminder that your child may need a different path, there is a place for every young person to learn, grow, and thrive.

Here’s to a school year filled with stronger connections, stronger families, and stronger communities! 🎉

This past Saturday, Inspire to Rise Founder & CEO Aida Seeraj participated in the Zero Hour Life Center's Recovery Community Symposium by moderating a panel on recovery. 🫂

We were so honored to have Aida participate in this important event and to facilitate the hard conversations that happen around recovery. At Inspire to Rise, we help people on their recovery journey everyday with mental health and substance misuse resources.
