Dear friends and family,
Today would have been Henry’s 12th birthday. It is hard to believe how quickly time flies. Nearly 8 years ago, just after his passing, we decided to use his loss as a catalyst for change. I am happy to say that JaxParks as championed the cause of inclusive play. Since the reopening of Huffman Boulevard they have opened or remodeled nearly a dozen parks with inclusive features and it’s only getting better. Because of this, I am confident that it’s time to take a step back and close Henry's HeRoes. I haven’t had the time or resources to give it what it deserves and the truth is, we have another champion for inclusive play, doing excellent work for our city: Kim with . Henry’s Heroes will be donating the remaining funds to Friends of Jax Playgrounds and I encourage all of you to send your donations her way if you still want to support inclusive play. Thank you to anyone who has donated or volunteered in the past. We couldn’t have done any of this without you. Keep letting your light shine!

Today is Henry’s seventh angelversary. We celebrated with a visit to the park and are happy to see it filled with other families enjoying the beautiful day. Support this playground and Henry’s legacy by liking, sharing and donating!

We are happy to share that the City of Jacksonville is working on the next inclusive playground design at Ringhaver Park on the Westside. The current playground has been closed for sometime due to safety concerns so this will be a huge addition to the community!

Stopped by the park this morning and it looks like one of the fasteners on the baby swing has snapped. I roped it off for now and have contacted the city so please don’t use it in the meantime. There’s also plenty of space for paver stones in the garden if anyone still wants to add their mark!

Calling all heroes! We are revamping the sensory garden at Huffman Park. To add some extra color, I’d like to install some painted pavers. If you would like to paint and donate one painted paver comment below 👇. All stones are due by Friday, July 23rd!!

Pavers should be the basic 12x12” concrete stones. These can be purchased at any Home Depot. Designs should be family friendly. You should also cover your design in several clear coats. These will be walked on.
