Every month Kirby-Smith Camp #1209 SCV holds a work day at one of our sites. Today we were at our Kirby-Smith Confederate Park in Jacksonville. This park was established and is maintained by membership of our camp. It includes memorials as well as a large flag pole that we rotate flags on. Today we lowered the First National Flag of the Confederacy and raised the US Flag in memory of American soldiers and that will be flown at half mast through Memorial Day. We also did some general site cleanup and continued efforts on one of our ongoing projects.
