๐ŸŽถ Jacksonvilleโ€™s riverfront is becoming more than a place to pass through. It is becoming a place to gather, walk, listen, and feel connected to the city itself.

The Riverfront Music Garden and rebuilt Northbank Riverwalk bring something deeper than preservation. They create public space, connection, energy, and pride.

What stands out most to you about this transformation?

Five years ago, we sat down with hundreds of Jacksonville residents and asked: what do you want to see along our downtown riverfront? The answer was clear: access to the river, beautiful park spaces, and places that actually come alive with activity. Yesterday, that vision took a major step forward. ๐ŸŽ‰

We were honored to join the reopening of the Northbank Riverwalk and the ribbon cutting for Heritage Music Park, where you can now walk continuously from Riverfront Park all the way to RAM, including across the McCoys Creek outfall. Groundwork Jacksonville CEO Kay Ehas was on hand to celebrate alongside the community that made it possible.

The medallions you'll spot along the way? Those are part of a Walk of Fame honoring 30 musicians, composers, and musical groups with deep roots in Jacksonville. A reminder that this city has always had a story worth celebrating.

And for us, this milestone hits especially close to home: the Emerald Trail will connect to the Northbank Riverwalk in four places โ€” Hogans Creek Outfall, Hogan Street, McCoys Creek Outfall, and Riverside Arts Market. Every step taken on this new stretch is a step closer to a fully connected Jacksonville.

This is what happens when a community dares to imagine. ๐ŸŒฟ City of Jacksonville, Florida - Government
